This is going to be a long day for you guys. Might have a venture onto the Arsenal board to check out the meltdown. however.
Hard to feel too excited about it...at least he's quick though, I think that'll suit us. Is his link up play any good?
New article, I think Darren you of all people would know that it has been coming.
No his link up play isn't very good at all. His movement and finishing are very good, though, so as an alternative to Benzema I can understand the logic in it. He's like a poor man's Inzaghi, probably why Ancelotti wanted him as it's a different approach.
Doesn't put Benzema's place under threat like signing Falcao would. Though I must admit, as much as I like Hernandez, I didn't expect him to go to a team as good as Madrid after he left us.
Should get quite a few in that team and has a knack for getting big goals, especially off the bench.
I was actually glad Madrid came in for him after the rumours linking him to Valencia. Negredo is just a much better player. Would have been a travesty to have him play ahead of Paco.
Yeah that has been coming. Think the things we discussed about Wenger not having that desire any more may be true?
Negredo is a better player, yes, and so a better fit for Valencia. Hernadnez is a decent squad player for Madrid though because he's a poacher you need the team to be in control of the game for long periods and Madrid are able to do that with the midifeld they have. So as a sub or squad player it's a good punt.
Yeah, that was totally true and I actually don't remember giving a definite answer to that. You look at Everton, although they will eventually fall short yoou can sense the excitement and feel the hunger in their players as the club is actually trying to be the best they can be with their limited resources. That is all that I ask for.
Yep that's understandable.
I honestly don't understand why you've not brought in a striker. There have been quite a few on the market that would have improved you.
You could have got Eto'o on loan if he wasn't prepared to spend big on one. It's baffling, to be honest, I can envisage a failed experiment in trying to make Sanchez a cf.
Still a few hours to go so you might pull something out of the bag.
So I have been thinking, it won't be the worst thing if Mata's nightmare continues till the end od the season. I don't think any other English team will be in for him so with him with one eye on the Euros and having left Valencia on good terms, will Lim want to bring him back to show the fans he means business? Can't think of a better signing next summer.
Yeah true, you need three players.
I think Mata has a future at United. He's not had the greatest of starts this season but he was coming good at the start of last. I just think we need more players in the team to compliment him. Falcao, Herrera and Di Maria is a bloody good start.
Where is he going to play though? What formation are you planning to play? Can't see him thriving in the current setup at all.
I've no idea mate. We'll have to wait and see. I think Falcao is more suited to playing with Mata and Rooney than RVP. Falcao has better pace, mobility and movement than RVP so it'll create space for them - and runs. RVP is quality but he doesn't do enough off the ball.
Same could be said of Mata, I suppose. But I think he has more of a future at United than RVP given his age and injuries.
But we'll have to wait and see.
Strange thing is when you signed RVP I bitterly said that you will only get one season out of him. Didn't know it would turn out that way. RVP's legs look gone now, and it is just no lacking fitness. Don't see him hitting full fitness again. I actually thought he was poor at the world cup tbh.
About Mata, you make a good point about Falcao's movement and how it may create space for him. Anyway, just hopes he fails to fit in and doesn't hit form so that the fans slate him to a bargain transfer to Valencia next summer, or in January!
Yeah he won't. Rumours are he's got to have an operation and will be out for six months. Not sure how true they are but it would explain the Falcao signing.
If he does fail at United I think it could be on the cards. Can't really see where else he would go. Barca can't sign players and Madrid don't need him. Maybe Atleti? Not sure he's a Simeone type player.
Exactly! That is why I see a Valencia move not being too crazy to think of. Sorry man, but I really want your player to fail!
Want all you like. He'll be our player of the year.
Doubt Valencia could afford his wages anyway.
Thanks Darren. More or less the image I had of Hernández. As you said, could be an option coming off the bench, just not someone whose signing is going to get the fans' pulses rushing.
I hadn't thought about his wages! The Enzo Perez deal looking highly unlikely now after thinking it was a done deal about a week ago! Valencia's midfield is lacking a bit of energy at the moment.
ioag If he starts scoring I'm sure the fans will warm to him because he's a likeable guy and consummate professional, but he's not the Galactico you lot are used to.
Oh really, Wump? That's a shame. Maybe we'll sign him?
Moutinho available? Utd would be mad to pass him up!
Wump, I have an alternative theory regarding Wenger.
