Lambert did make a difference. Good player and a good buy. Not sure about your other new signings though. Horrible dive from Can. As for Balotelli, he did score a few for us, but when he left everyone else scored a lot more!
op
you were definitely outclassed , there was a big gulf.
I think that result, although early in the season reiterates what everyone is saying, Livepool will not challenge for the title this season and will be hard pressed to Finish top 4.
Brenden "Coaching defending is easy " Rodgers has not addressed the glaring problems in your defending which is more down to the inept tactics at the back rather than the players ( except Glenn Johnson )
Apart from Lovren having an off night the other new guys performed well:
Moreno was good all game baring that one crucial mistake.
Markovic coming back from injury but looked really sharp and didn't help that we finished game with 9 and half men.
Can was very busy, forward thinking and again hampered by us going down to 10 men and Moreno on one leg.
Lallana and Balo to come in.
we wont win title that is for sure. hard pressed for top four, really. stop being silly as i have nit seem anything as yet from arsenal ynited and spurs that they are well ahead of us
WHL, bar last season is a tricky place to go.
I would be happy with a point, but if we won. 6 points from these games would be an excellent return.
It's tough when you have been turned over, but the truth is that we were beaten by the current champions, who are devastating at home.
Other than some iffy defensive positioning and sloppy tracking back I haven't seen anything yet in these two games to really get my alarms bells ringing. There have been positives, and of course negatives.

trust me and bookmark,
you will be hard pressed to get top 4, untied will strengthen and push and arsenal haven't finished outside the top 4 for years now.
Lets not forget Spurs and Everton too.
Adding to that fact that you cannot defend for toffee and you will be hard pressed

Balo will bring you some goals and some hard work defending the lead he gives you before he gets sent off. I like the guy, I really do, but he is as mad as a box of frogs so you expect 2 goals and a sending off in a few games. Clearly you need some more firepower and he will give you that but he isn't a great team player (having said that, he will always have a place in City hearts for a certain pass).
Think it wil be a struggle at times for Liverpol, with Champions League games as well, but you can play some great football so are always entertaining to watch. Those on the WUM need to think about who beat you rather than that you were well beaten. When you have the might of QPR and Burnley in your early games easier to rack up the points. Spurs looked unconvincing faced with mighty WHU but put relegation fodder QPR to the sword (QPR down by February I should think), take the game to them and you could easily get a result, they haven't really been tested at all yet, you have. Being found wanting in a game against City is hardly a disgrace, not many teams will be bringing the likes of Navas and Aguero on as subs against you. You do need to tighten in defence though, how on earth does Johnson survive?

I personally prefer the 4-1-2-1-2 formation but the only problem, is that it leaves Sterling/Lallana/Coutinho/Markovic all fighting it out for the one position.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is stupid. Did you watch us last season?
Coutinho played as a box to box midfielder when we had two strikers on and lallana will do the same.
Sterling is more than capable with his pace and movement of leading the line, as is markovich (who has also done so in competitive games)
You can get all 4 of those players on the pitch without even using the "number 10" spot if you so desired.
As for balloted why do people keep talking about his time at city, when all his peers are telling us he has matured since then, sway from mancini who had just as big an ego as balo. There's a reason pellegrini has been a revelation at city, mancini acts like a child himself!!
We'll challenge for the title imo. Bad result, but we also lost 3-1 vs Arsenal last season away with Suarez and Sturridge..
We played 433 with Suarez and Sturridge a couple of times last season and scored loads.
IRU
You also have to assume that after 18 months at his 'boyhood club', where he scored pretty much 1 in 2, for them to want to move him on for relatively low sale value, all is not right.
But agree that him fighting with Mancini for the limelight coloured his time at City.
So far this season we're three points up on what we were from the corresponding fixtures last year.
Spurs had a great result at the weekend but QPR's defending made us look like world beaters. It'll be a tough game but I fancy us for some reason.
I have no idea what is going through BR's head when it comes to setting up the defence but Skrtel is not the main issue. Why isn't Sakho playing? Why is Lovren playing on the left of CB with a new LB? Why does he change it pretty much every week?
I don't know but there will be a reason but the fact is Rodgers has spent over £60m on this defence and it looks as bad as at any time in my lifetime.

Just out of interest why would you think that Balotelli would get sent off?
As for balloted why do people keep talking about his time at city, when all his peers are telling us he has matured since then,
-------------------------------------------------------------------
If that's the case why did Milan buy him for 19m and sell him for 15m? He's talented but don't delude yourself, he's a risk.
There was one moment in the first half that could have changed the game completely. I can't even remember which two players of ours were involved, but one of them was played through, and if he had just squared it with his left foot first time then it would have been 1-0. Instead, he chose to take it outside and the chance was gone.
Robbing
Sly little kicks at people, the odd stamp etc. Just a general lack of self control. Really talented, maybe a few wires not properly in place!
Why have Milan sold him/cheaper than purchased
1) Because he wanted to leave for CL, how do you know he had no sort of release clause? If you have an unhappy player and one club who want him your negotiating position is weak
2) he had played 18 months of his contract, this reduces his value, if we assume he had 3 and a half years of his contract remaining they have actually made a 1.7m pound profit on an unhappy player.
3) Milan are up shït creek and can't afford a paddle. The money has gone from Italian football, and Milan are fallen giants. They could not afford his 160k a week wages anymore. Or at least, they needed to distribute it through the team more, something we experienced and something united will experience without CL for another year or two.
You do all realise Milan and it's fans are sad to see him go right? It might not suit your/the media's agendas, but that doesn't really matter!!

Milan are almost bankrupt and need money. They ve only spent like 500k this transfer window..
Actually if the 16 million pounds is the figure to be believed it's an even bigger profit based on their original valuation.
Strangely oppo fans always use the highest/lowest quoted price depending on which better suits their agenda.. Get over it!!

Fact is Balotelli got sent off once for Milan and scored 30 goals in 50 games. He's had a kid and has accepted a reduced contract.

I was in Milan just at the end of the World Cup, and that's not the impression I had - when I mentioned I was a City fan to some Athletico fans their first response was to say would you like Balotelli back? He's very unpopular in Italy generally. Some of it is racism tbh, but he's also got a lot of bad press cause of the way he's treated people like Raffaella Fico.
