The club failed to prepare itself properly after Fergie's retirement and now it's being hounded by its mistakes.

Do you know who Louis Van Gaal is?
We could only realistically win 2 trophies this season and we've just thrown one away tonight without even trying.
Don't get it. We now have 1 game a week for next 4 months and far too many player.
What with his park the bus style
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal, when asked if the club would be signing any more players in this transfer window: "No. This is same question your other colleagues have put. We know exactly what we are doing. We have lost in the Capital One Cup, and so tonight has cost us the chance of a trophy, and that is disappointing."
The last league SAF won was given to him, firstly by Arsenal selling their captain and golden boot winner for a pittance, Chelsea sacking their manager by November and the Man City manager too bothered fighting with his players rather than trying to win games.

Jog on. Nobody is 'given' league titles.
Ferguson and Charlton have set us back for years to come. i still to this day can't understand not going after Mourinho.

We got 89 points. We earned it.
Did City get given it the season before? We were nailed on but managed to drop 8 points in the final 6 games to lose on goal difference.

Oh come on. If we're going to say that then it has to be said that we should have stepped in and told Ferguson to go years before he did so that we could rebuild with healthy foundations and a manager with the hunger to get stuck into a squad of decent players. We should have given Ferguson the chance to retire when we won the Champions League or at least when we lost the third final. But we had to keep it going and now look at us.

i heard he cried when united didnt give him the job
probably nonsense but i think we'd have got him if we wanted
im more than happy with LVG, he just needs to show that ruthless streak he's famous for
its almost like he has softened up since coming to united which is not what is needed
It was nonsense Heisenberg.
There seems to be this myth amongst some United fans that Mourinho coveted the United job. He didn't, he was always (and still is) complimentary about United because him and Ferguson are very close friends, which is why Mourinho said publicly he knew about his retirement so early on.
Utd fans desperate for a manager they've been slagging off for years. Fair play, some of you are fickle indeed.
Mourinho was definitely buttering himself up for the United job when we met in the CL tie.
It doesn't matter we are where we are . Mourinho is a great manager always has been but he manages another club.
We have LVG. A man who has won the CL and league championships in Holland (with 2 clubs), Spain and Germany. He also won the UEFA Cup and took an unfancied Dutch side to the brink of the World Cup Final. We need to get behind him and stop wondering about what might have been with other managers. Van Gaal has the pedigree to succeed at United no question about that in my mind.
'i heard he cried when united didnt give him the job'
this was indeed nonsense fabricated by a journalist who openly dislikes Jose. I do however think Jose was testing the waters at times to see if he would be offered the job. He claims several things himself though 1. that he knew Ferguson was retiring long before the announcement and 2. that when Fergie told him this he had already told Roman he would return

whoever slated him is a monkey, he's been the best manager going alongside Ferguson for the last 10 years.
i agree, i wanted Jose, but, LVG is the right man...
no problem there.
