Monaco, Liverpool, Dortmund and Real would be one tough group
Real Madrid, Basel from 1 and 2.
Anyone from pot 4 apart from Roma would be good. Maybe Steau Bucharest as even under Roy we smashed them 4-1
Porto, Basel, Liverpool and BATE Borisov will do me. Although that is quite unlikely.
Real, Dortmund and Roma would be the worst three we could get on paper I reckon, with Porto, Basel and Maribor probably being the best. Personally I want at least one massive Anfield night so hopefully we'll get Real or Barca or Bayern from pot 1.
The only possible reason you'd want a strong team in your group, is for the first game at Anfield. For me, I'd want a relatively easy group, and turn it up a notch for the knockouts.
Either Portuguese side
Juve
Anyone but Roma
Would do for me. Not boring, but a good chance of getting out.

We can't assume that we'd get to the knockout stages even with an easier group. To get to the CL after several years away and then not have a single 'massive' game would be really disappointing.
why the fack are dortmund in pot 2???
Wow Jay, dont uusually see you on here this time
Very strong draw this year, can't really find fault in the first three pots. A few stragglers in pot 4 as usual but otherwise very competitive.

It's all based on strange coefficients that I don't understand. Quite how Dortmund are still behind the likes of Porto and Benfica I have no idea.

Yeah fair point actually. Would be nice to heal a Real or someone else turn up, wouldn't it?
PvP, I'm still at work mate. Major release next week so it's all hands on deck. Just eating the pizza my boss bought, finishing up, then going home.
by the way dortmund are very weak at the moment, too many players who are injured and they bought badly.
It wouldnt be a bad thing to play them in the group stages.
I still think theyt must be in pot 1.Have done so well in europe in the last 5 seasons.

If they're as bad as they were when they came to Anfield in pre-season then I'd welcome a draw against Dortmund with open arms.

Pre-season is the best judge of teams. Man Utd won the prestigious Champions Cup and have only continued that form into this season.
Personally I kind of hope we get:
Real
Dortmund
Roma
What a group that would be!
In terms of ease I suppose the ideal group would be:
Benfica/Porto
Schalke
Maribor
Or something like that.
Roma definitely the team to avoid in Pot 4, the rest are not bad.
A great group for travel would be:
Benfica/Porto
PSG
Anderlecht
It's all based on strange coefficients that I don't understand. Quite how Dortmund are still behind the likes of Porto and Benfica I have no idea.
---------------------------------------------
To be frank I think Dortmund deserve either our place or Benfica's in pot 1 because I wouldnt take Porto out.
Very good team who are hard to beat.
An easy group is a must.It allows you to qualify with a game to spare, rest players and top the group.Thats how united consistetly made it into the semis.
From pot 2 I would only want us to avoid Zenit, Shakhtor,PSG and Juve. The german teams are beatable at the moment.
From pot 3 I would want us to avoid CSKA, Bilbao and galatasaray.
From pot 4 we must avoid Roma and Monaco. The rest are dog sheit
Easier to show who I don't want.
R Madrid
A Madrid
B Munich
Thats it.

Barca seems pretty likely this year with Suarez going there.
Just the kind of thing that happens.
Wouldnt mind benfica, petersburg and anderlect
I want one of the big boys from pot one that's what cl is all about plus we need to be tested away from from v a top side.
