I'd rather start him on the wing and play a young player at CM tbh, we need penetration up the field
I'm that's where he will eventually play and when Herrera and hopefully a new signing are available but we are really short for Burnley
I'd go 4-2-3-1 this week
Valencia----Jones----Evans----Blackett
--------------Fletcher---Rothwell-----------
Januzaj-------------Mata--------------Di Maria
----------------------Rooney---------------------
I think we will see Rooney in CM.... RVP up top
Not sure we can even drop the 3-5-2 though, we have no defenders left either

Here is a very good article about how Di Maria can play in midfield and what we might expect from him and where he might play on occasion.

You ended it... Not sure anyone has told LVG about it
He'll probably play in midfield in a 352.
Ddg
Jones smalling Evans
Valencia Fletcher Di Maria young
Mata
RvP Rooney
Smalling is injured I think robb
Hopefully Rojo sorts his work permit. It's painful watching Ashley Young play.
Di Maria will tear Burnley a new one and we'll all get excited then he'll get injured in training and miss 3 months.
None of us want that but all of us have a sinking feeling it'll happen.

I don't.
He'll be injured before the game.

I wonder what Raymond Verheijen is saying about our injuries now?
He was slagging off Van Gaal not that long ago.
The bloke is a caaaant. He just slags off the coaches of any team that ends up suffering injuries.
Said the same when he was having ago at Moyes.
It would be ironic if, with us seeing ADM as the solution to our lack of quality wingers and expecting the signing of another midfielder, he is converted à la Schweinsteiger into a CM and we sign a winger on Sunday.
Ironic as in improbable but it's a thought.
I am very worried about this game. Lose on Saturday and we could be 8 points behind Spurs after 3 games
Yeah, we'll sign Schwein and turn him back into a winger
I wish he'd turn Fletcher back into a winger.
Stretty is our best winger. Sorry, whinger.
Certainly wouldn't call that a theory or a prediction, DTKF.
Even within a 532 I could see him equally as a winger back, on the left of the three or up front in the Robben role.
His flexibility is intriguing, and his ability to provide pace and quality in attacking transitions in a number of roles ought to give LVG a number of tactical options.

LVG would do that just "because I can".
What are we going to do without Evil Kagawa if Shinji leaves?, will we have to have a Evil Di Maria account, with his wing-a-backing?
RR, yeah that's one of the reasons I'm so happy we've signed him.
That said, I hope we don't shift him around too much. He'll need to settle into a role he'll be playing regularly, it'll be harder settling into the side if he keeps being played in different positions.
