Juve knocked Chelsea out of their group the year before. It's not like Juve weren't good enough to qualify, they just massively underperformed - a bit like us the season Basle knocked us out.
So with that in mind, I'm not sure it's relevant to Roma. Roma are a strong side, and will likely fail to qualify from the group, but it doesn't mean it won't be a tough group for City because Roma have a lot of talent and are now very organised under Garcia.
Past record against English teams doesn't matter really. Real Madrid have never beaten Liverpool. I'm sure you won't use that when analysing the strengths of their team.

I actually can't believe the state we are in with injuries.... It's laughable.
I'm trying to put together a 4 man defence and, without drawing from the reserves, it's impossible.
Can't someone push Rojo's papers through? Not like the lad is gonna claim the dole, is it.... Just let the búgger work.

I'm waiting for comments such as Glen Johnson can deal with Cristiano Ronaldo
Best right back in the league, remember. He wouldn't even get into our miserable team!
I fancy us to go through Darren, bit annoyed we have Bayern again as I would have preferred someone different!
Roma games should be good though, looking forward to those.
Retro, Got_Deluded and JimmyThePleb don't count, Mex.
Have to laugh at people saying we overpaid for Di Maria, we could have got Glen Johnson and Andy Carroll for that
melts, yeah I fancy you to go through as well. But it could have been more straightforward. I wonder how it will impact on the title race.
Chelsea have a much easier draw and don't have to travel as far. Could keep them a bit fresher in the league.
Should be a good group either way.
I'm just waiting for the first

I'm getting used to us having a hard draw!
Chelsea did very well. Again...
Chelsea have only ever had 1 difficult group in the history of the CL. And they failed to qualify from it

Is what I think
I don't particularly mind getting good teams in the group stage as I don't think we will can win it yet anyway, I'd rather see us against Roma than Marimor!
City and Chelsea will go far this year. Can see Chelsea winning it.
If Aguero can stay fit for the whole campaign they might make at least the semis.
melts, yeah that's true.
Though I agree with you on winning it I think getting further in the competition with a nicer draw can give the team more confidence.
It took you three attempts to get out of the group and then in your first knock out tie you get Barca. I think that must be quite difficult for the team mentally.
A kinder a draw makes it more likely for you to reach the quarters or even a semi, depending on the draw, and from there I think the mindset playing against the bigger boys can be more positive for City.
Bayern, Barca or Either Madrid side will win it
Yeah agree with that Darren. Looking at the groups, if we do finish second, then it's going to be a difficult second game again this year!
We do seem more confident now though and a midfield three of Fernando, Fernandinho and Toure will take some getting through for away games I think.
Who do you think will win it this year Darren?

Have Liverpool ever beaten Ludogorets
Got a feeling Chelsea might win it, them or Real again.
Chelsea I think.
melts, yeah agree with that. I still think City lack a top class winger for when they play against the big boys in the CL.
I just think it'd improve your counter attacking threat, especially away from home if you play those three.
City should have signed Di Maria, now they have to rely on Jesus Lennon all season
