Don't see where anyone has complained about the players efforts. They just aren't good enough

Agreed Pride.

Some are having a go at Cellino for employing Hockaday.

If I remember rightly, them who know can correct it, but wasn't Hockaday recommended to Cellino, and, Hockaday didn't apply for the position.

I'm a Cellino fan / supporter, in his defence, Cellino said in a previous article that he'll do things his way, he also said if he makes a mistake then he'll rectify it asp, which is what he has done and is true to his word.

We've had Grayson, Warnock and BM before Hock, 2 of those have won promotions with teams, BM only 1 though.

One big name stands out above the rest, in name only, but all 3 couldn't cut it at Leeds, so it's no surprise Hock didn't either, but would'ave surprised a lot if he had've done.

Doesn't matter how big or small the name of the coach, or how many big teams he's managed, it takes a special kind of coach to cut it at Leeds, be he a big name or not.

We have fans who are hungry, and getting hungrier, no, actually famished for some kind of glory, but would be happy to chew on a much better team that plays much better football and gives the top 6 a good bashing.

Hock didn't cut it, but, he had the team playing better on the ground football, as opposed to hoofball we've had for past 3 or 4 seasons.

However, for a coach to say (quoting another poster) he doesn't believe in wingers, when it's obvious we need wingers, especially when Smith plays is absolutely ludicrous, and Hock dug his own grave; and not just for the statement either.

When BM got stood down, and Redfearn took over we won. Will be interesting to see if it happens again on Saturday against Bolton..

The winger thing was slightly open to defense, only in the sense that wingbacks are the new widemen.
However to say wingers are not needed was daft.

Worryingly I agree with LIW

Evidence was they wanted to win badly the other night. Instead they lost badly

I never liked Hockadays appointment so can't cry crocodile tears now, but in all honesty if you appoint a proper coach they have to be given longer - this just says Cellino screwed up, which is what we all thought anyway (most of us)

Did he not say, that the old fashioned touch line hugging winger is largely gone from the game... And that you don't need to have 'wingers' to have width. All depends on the context.. He was defending his formation... Or possibly cellino's formation.

Unlike most I do feel sorry for the guy. The fans were on him before he started. The armchair experts lambasted him for not playing 18 year olds they've never seen play. He gets criticised for bigging himself up, under criticism and for putting a positive spin on some dire performances. What's he supposed to do/say.

He didnt get much of a chance and didn't have much luck on my view, but the football was miserable, no getting away from that.

I hope our new coach... Who doubtless will be from a top drawer shortlist of those who want to work for cellino (the man who changes his mind daily on whose fault everything is) .... Gets a fair crack of the whip. They hopefuly will have a better squad to work with.

Not an issue of not trying at all. I think it is very rare that a footballer will be on the pitch and not trying!

Fans who watch the game often blame poor performances on a lack of effort when really it is nothing to do with that.

Got to agree with what Milkyboy is saying here

Why do people think we were playing better football under Hockaday?

The two games I've been to are two of the worst I've ever seen!

There is no defence of Cellino for appointing Hockaday, none whatsoever! He doesn't deserve any credit for sacking him, because it was a pathetic decision in the first place.

The only worry is that he will employ someone similar.

I think what he said about wingers was that the team needed pace and that didnt have to be on the flanks, not all good sides have wingers but have pace, just another misquote for people to have a pop at DH

Every player in this team is adapting to something new. The Italians that Cellino has brought in are having to adapt to a new country, a new culture. And the players already here are having to adapt to a completely new style of play.

Time is needed but I am unsurprised to see that LIW clearly doesn't want to give it
