As far as I'm aware the case was dropped two years ago because there was no evidence, it seems to have been brought back up for god knows what reason.

When United bought him he didn't have this case hanging over him, once he signed on the dotted line it had been brought back up. Probably the victim trying to make money from Rojo's move.
