I think this is irrelevant to us now.

Like all the ronaldo articles after he left

Except

The loss is more like when dwight Yorker left

but they have probably signed a striker who in three years’ time is going to become the best striker in England

I'm just fed up of most of these people giving the lad a hard time.

Dunc,

that's just my opinion which I'm entitled to. I might be proved wrong or might end up being right, who knows?

Who's giving him a hard time? He has become the next Henry within 24 hours.

the lad possesses legitimate pace. That's a quality Arsenal need in attack for goodness sake!

I don't think its pace they lack (Ox, Walcott, Sanchez), it's an out and out goalscorer. Remains to be seen if Wellbeck is the answer

Welbs is a great signing for them

It may be nice for those players to have a striker who can keep up with them for a change though.

Busby,

I agree with you on that.

Pace on the wings needs a player that can keep up with them and not stop play or hold up the ball.

This club will regret this in the long run. Wenger will turn the boy in a household name mark my words.

Arsenal definitely lack pace up top. They don't have a plan B and often have to slow down attacks because Giroud doesn't have the pace to get in behind.

They now have the option in bigger games to play Walcott, Welbs and Ox as a front three and counter.

I'm really surprised we sold him to Arsenal.

Imagine the meltdown if Welbz scores the decisive goal to get them 4th place over us.

Good article, I am tired of the pathetic fans (mainly Arsenal) who instead of supporting their players/team they criticise and are negative. What sort of supporter is that?

Knowing some Arsenal fans they will boo the poor lad.

I saw a stat last night that - when played up front - since 2009 Welbeck has a goal every 2.2 games. That's not bad for a player who was 18-23 in that time and obviously still developing.

He'll be a good signing for Arsenal, I'm certain of it, although I doubt he'll ever be the best striker in England.

I think Danny will turn out to be a great signing for Arsenal. The pace and workrate of Danny, Walcott and Sanchez will combine very well IMO.

People claim he lacks composure and isn't a natural goalscorer. Any striker is effected by low confidence and playing out of position. If he is played centrally see a big improvement in his scoring, much like with Sturridge after his move from Chelsea to Liverpool.

, they play too much football manager and think real life is like that, with a never ending pot of money spilling out of our club.
Welbeck is 23 yrs old, and already better than Giroud, so just support him and AFC and Shut The Funk Up.

Is it me or has our board gone massively down hill in the last few months? Most of the good posters have gone to be replaced with immature aggressive plastics.

I think most arsenal fans were genuinely happy about the signing but after spending the last 3 years calling him stuff like Welshít and Welwánk they have to pretend they are disappointed.
