1. I don't care about England.
2. This "Philosophy", "Identity" and "Sentimentality" crap is the reason we were so so poor last season.
Times, and especially football, have changed. You either evolve and adapt or you get left behind.
Manchester United still have a core of English players and will continue to bring through more young talent and with LvG here they will get their shot.
But this whole Barca-esque "more than a club" shìte is starting to get real old, real fast.

we bought Rojo to sort out the noisey neighbours, he is good at that apparently.

Isn't that what's holding his work permit up? He has an unanswered arrest warrant in Argentina.
btw long time since we've seen you Sempre - where have you been hiding?
Pretty sure that was the joke...
I also would like us to develop local talent but for the sake of Utd and not the national team. Until we get a manager with balls who does not let the press pick a team for him, we will continue to fail.
On a separate note, a lot of foreign kids, take risks and come here to our academies to play football, why are our players not doing the same? Why is there no desire to sign English men abroad? When you answer those questions, you are on the path to solving the problems with the national team
Money and the chance to play for a big club...
That's why the foreigners come here, if they had the same opportunities at home most would probably stay there.
A lot of the Spanish players grew up playing in Spain....
Maybe the problem is a mix of the players the academies and the coaching. Moving abroad to somewhere with worse coaching would not help a player....
To counter this argument about a drastic change in principles at the club, it could be suggested it gives youth MORE of a chance??
If one of the superstar players gets injured then a youth player will come in for experience rather than a more experienced "periphary" player that we know already hasnt quite made the grade??
I think Uniteds squad was bulked too much with "middle ground" players that should have made the next step but stood still. Its not like Cleverley and Welbeck weren't given opportunities.
