I think United have sold out massively and have signed players on reputation rather than what they'll do for the team but this is a terrible article.
Football sold out thirty years ago. Louis Van Gaal has spent more as Manchester United manager than Ajax have in their history, I'm not isolating United here- but media rights have destroyed European football for the bigger clubs in smaller countries such as Ajax, Celtic and Benfica.

Arsenal may not have sold out in the way you describe, but you have sold out your fans with the exorbitant ticket prices; the most expensive in Europe. You've held to ransom the very heart and soul of your football club; its fans.
You are far from being the envy of every true football fan; that would be a club like Bayern Munich who know the true value of their fans.
In comparison to the clubs you mention in your OP, "the nouveau riche" as you like to call them, their cheapest season tickets prices are as follows.
City £299, Utd £532, Chelsea £595
Arsenal - £985
Most expensive;
City £780, Utd £950, Chelsea £1250
Arsenal - £1995
Your cheapest ticket is more expensive than City and Utd's most expensive tickets. That is deplorable.
Those clubs may have sold out in your opinion but what they haven't done is sold out on their fans as your club has. Look at what those clubs have won in the last decade - European Cups in the case of Utd and Chelsea, League titles for all three; their fans have enjoyed the ride; week after week the fans gets to see some of the best players in the world, and their fans pay less than yours.

I'm shocked at the actual amounts we've spent this summer, but its not like the money wasn't there to spend. And as someone has pointed out, what is the point of not spending it if you can, or more importantly in our case, the spending is needed. You guys had a large had plenty of money from the Suarez sale. What do you do, not spend it due to some sort of holier than thou attitude because Arsenal fans say so?

Why can't Wenger field his first eleven?

Very rarely has a fit back five and his fullbacks are crucial to the system.
The investment in Walcott points to him being the most important player when fit - his goals propelled Arsenal into the CL after the loss of Van Persie.
I am of the belief that Wenger's first eleven which has never played together will be Invincible.

Not defending Arsenal’s ticketing as agree they are scandalous but it’s worth noting those prices do not reflect a like for like comparison in regard to games paid for.
You can also add about 50% on to “normal” value for pretty much everything in London.

No we're not. Our most expensive season ticket is £850. Cheaper than Newcastle and £5 more than Sunderland, £230 more than Southampton's. In fact all of our season tickets range from £710-850. Our highest priced ticket is £1145 cheaper than yours, and still £100 cheaper than your cheapest.

I find it nonsense to be honest. Celtic get paltry money compared to the English clubs yet our prices for the games against Barcelona, Ajax and AC Milan worked out at £28 per game last season- and the Germans are similarly low in all of their competitions. English clubs have worked hard on developing fanbases abroad to the extent that they can charge extortionate rates and still know that the foreign fans can pay these prices even if the locals cannot.
For all the billions of pounds flowing through English football, fans are not really seeing the benefits of it.

I appreciate I am (sort of) defending our prices but when compared to other grounds there are no restricted views at the Emirates. There are seats all over the country that cost a considerable amount of money for the supporter to observe a roof support, side of stand etc.
I have seen fans photos from Anfield, White Hart Lane etc in excess of £50 to look at a pillar or not able to see half of the pitch.
There was a good discussion on PL ticketing a few weeks ago prior to the Football Supporters’ Federation march which raised some good points.
