The top 10 shocking Transfers this window?

IMO he is too light weight for the prem and may suffer on the defensive side of things

You mean like Raheem Sterling..

You see Sanchez for £35M and Suarez (regardless of his attitude) was only £10M more and is a far better player......

-

Suarez went for £75m... Now i'm no maths genius, but £75m - £59.7m = NOT £10m...

Also, Di Maria is a better player than Sanchez so is bound to cost more.

From everything that I have read, these figures are inaccurate. First of all I don't believe he is on 350k at Monaco. Secondly we aren't paying his full wage. Apparently we are paying him 140k per week and Monaco are paying the rest - which is crazy to me.

------------------------------------------

other way around - he is on 450,000 Euros a week and Monaco are paying around 150,000 a week.

the total loan will cost between £20-£25m
----------------------

Just done a little digging and according to the Guardian United are paying 190k per week, with Monaco paying the other half of his wage. That would put his weekly wage at Monaco at 380k, which more or less equates to your figure of 450k euros.

That puts the total cost of the loan at 16m.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Which happens to be almost exactly 20m Euros - a lot of crossed wire on numbers/denominations here, as usual.
-------------------------

Yeh, I think that certain sections of the press do it on purpose.

If Falcao costs 16m for the season Man Utd would have been mad not to take him

If you look at it like that, then you should look at all transfers in the same way. How much will Costa, Fabregas and Torres cost Chelsea, transfer fee and wages included??

----------------------------------------------
irrelevant as they are our players. if we sold them in the mean time we owuld not have to pay those wages.

Utd cant sell Falcao so are paying that much just for him to return to his actual club....unless of course Utd want to pay the reported £44m it will take to buy the then 29-30 year old

Forgot about sideshow Bob

that fee was indeed shocking.

actually, Bojan to Stoke did really shock me at the time...

May be wrong, but I don't think United signed Di Maria for his defensive work. Of course he will 'suffer on the defensive side of things'. He's not a defender. And I don't think he will be played in defence by United.

1. Your figures are all made up and laughable. Man City and Real Madrid consulted you before "rejecting" it. Nothing to do with the number of forward players they already have nor Financial fair Play issues.

1.. Is very rich coming from a team that paid a whopping £42 million for Ozil, what's his return so far? Add his wage to that figure an divide it by the number of his contracted years and tell me who got a better deal us or you?

5. Delete No. 5 it's no shocking news. Your better players always end up in man City. Nothing new.

But will he be played through the middle behind a No10? If so he'll have plenty of defensive work to do unless you want people getting at Jones, Smalling and Evans and you don't want that really.

1 Falcao to Man U: £6M loan payment and £350K a week ? Very expensive for a 1 year loan deal.

I read we were only paying £200k of his wage, can anybody confirm?

They are a bit light at the back so you will never know......I feel Welbeck will be playing either in DM or CB for us soon as well....

So basically Arsenal have paid for us to have Falcao for a year. Nice one.

I also heard that but let's not bog this article down with trivialities like that when we can assume he's on nearly half a million a week

Or better still, add a completely fabricated number that you dreamt up out of thin air and add that, as the OP did for point 1.

Defensively, I don't think he's any worse than natural cm's like Gerrard, Arteta, Wilshere, etc...

or like Mata

Are Utd going to play Di Maria instead of Mata?

Matas weakness is the defensive side of things and costs the team with it every now and again.
doesnt matter if it is in the No.10 or on the wing it leaves your collender like defense more exposed then Jordan's faff

------------------------------

Its not really irrelevant. If you sign a player for 5 years and he costs you 45m (Falcao's value), that works out at 9m per year over the course of the contract. We have paid 6m for Falcao's services for 1 year. Now, of course if you buy a player, there is a chance you will recoup your outlay, or that he will stay for longer than his contract. Which is why there is a difference of 3m per year between a loan and a permanent deal.

£200k is still an enourmous amount of money which ever way you slice it. Employers NI is 12% ffs.
