I might be wrong about £170 million.
Herrera - £30 million
Shaw - £30 million
Di Maria - £60 million
Rojo - £17 million plus £4 million Nani wages
Blind - £14 million
Falcao - £12 million loan fee.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Herrera - £33 million
Shaw - £37 million
Di Maria - £59 million
Rojo - £17 million
Blind - £14 million
Falcao - £6 million loan fee.
Is what I have seen in the more reliable papers
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Herrera £29m
Shaw £27m
According to BBC.

We need to get back in the top 4
That's why I'd be playing a system the players are used to, with the additional players in the squad, top 4 shouldn't be a massive problem
If we persist with formations and tactics that we are clearly struggling with for much longer, and the results don't change, top4 will be gone before we even get going.
Our season starts a week on Sunday
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exacxtly
Shaw definitely wasn't £37m.
Top 4 is going to be very hard but if people think LVG is going to easily drop his 3 at the back then I think they're in for a shock, this whole philosophy stuff he keeps mentioning is key and needs to be understood by all for it to work and that is only going to happen with time and patience.

I'd say the stakes are high. Not reaching the top four would be disastrous (though I don't know to what extent - amazing how many people know the fine details of our contract with Adidas). It would look like a major underperformance on the part of LVG and such an expensive squad. On the other hand, if radically changing the tactics means we don't have a coherent team until November, we may be left with a formidable gap to close on a few teams that don't drop that many points.

Last Summer, dropping out of the top 4 was unthinkable to us
Since then, we have spent 200 million quid
If Moyes was an unmitigated disaster coming in and implementing his system and finishing 7th then I'm sorry but LVG coming in having a FAR superior squad to work with having spent a fortune would be every bit as big a disaster, if not more so
I understand changes take time but we had an easy ride to the start of this season more or less and we have been utterly dreadful
Furthermore, I don't believe it should be taking much time to get (if they are available) Shaw Herrera Blind Januzaj Di Maria Mata RVP Rooney and Falcao up to speed to beat the likes of QPR and West Ham at home and even some kind of result against Leicester away. Which takes us to Everton on Oct 5th -that would be a fortnight away from the promised 'I need three months'
Patience is one thing. Losing or drawing to potential relegation fodder in another.
If we were getting beaten by the likes of City Arsenal Liverpool Chelsea at the moment, I could understand the patience but, we arn't
Yes, we get strange results, Stoke v City. Arsenal v Leicester for example but a loss, or even draw, against QPR, would make it 5 poor results, playing poorly too, on the bounce
We may have a fair few new players but so does everyone else
I will add, if the board had not backed him, I of course would be far less hopeful, but even then, I would have expected a miles better start than we have had, even with the injuries.
Season starts a week on Sunday. If the players arnt gelling, win ugly. Our forward earn enough
#maccarant
I think many fans and possibly even certain media outlets would have given us the benefit of the doubt had we concluded our transfer dealings with the likes of Herrera,Shaw,Blind and Rojo and missed out on CL football.Granted we still would've gotten criticism because we're a big,big club and getting CL football would have still been our main objective.
But the pressure really mounts up now after spending big money on established stars such as Di Maria and Falcao and if we dont get CL football for next season then major questions would be asked.
Basically we're in a 'do or die' situation.

I know you do Macca he really is something special! apparently the reason Welbeck wanted to leave is because LVG said he'd be 5th choice behind Wilson this season, whether that's true or not I've no idea
Was it Nicky Butt or might have been Paul Scholes said hey have never seen anyone able to leap so high from a standing start
Can head, score with either foot, technically solid, and classy close ball control, great at running with the ball too
A real talent
Top 4 or give him the sack. Call me whatever you want, you can't go around with a strike force of Falcao, Rooney, Rvp, Di Maria and Mata and not get top 4.
Add to that, we had a lot of numpties here last season saying Liverpool had it easy, well so do we now, we have even managed to cut more games by being humiliated in the carling cup.
