The Carroll transfer was far worse, but there were definite shades of it in the Welbeck deal. A club leaving it on deadline day to sign a striker, panicking, and then paying well over the odds for an English striker whilst their fans descend into hysteria wondering why this is happening.
I didn't say it was the same, I said it reminded me of it.

How can you claim it to be overpriced though? With so many players going for inflated fees, surely this is not an anomaly but the norm?
================
Because if Arsenal fans were told a week ago that they'd be signing Welbeck for 16m, every one of them to a man would have an absolute shít-fit, that's how.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If we were told a week ago he was available for £16K most people still wouldn't have wanted him so the money issue is kind of irrelevant. In the current market he is worth £16M and we can make it back easily if he flops.

Fed up of all you guys failing to appreciate Welbeck's genius. Would take him at Arsenal, he'd start over Girroud with ease.

Unfortunately who i rate clearly doesnt matter to Arsene
You've had 1st hand experience of Afobe's threat, in your 4 nil defeat against MK Dons, dont you rate him?
Don't you think he's a helmet for paying £16m for a striker who is worse than 2 of your reserve players?

Dont really know where you're going with this.
Like ive admitted numerous times, all fans are fickle.
You cant deny that majority if not all Utd supporters belived Anderson was superior to Cesc, how many still believe that now?
To answer you question: Considering Sanogo was 1st choice striker after Girouds injury and imo Sanogo isnt good enough yet.
Welbeck is clearly better than Sanogo.
So based on having Welbeck to lead the line instaed of Sanogo, im very happy
