I've seen him play twice and he looked lost out there. But then again the whole team did. It was this season...

No SPL lumps please

There is a shortage of good quality defenders..... established ones are out of our price range so we have to take a punt on youngsters..

I should add that he IS Premiership level, I meant I'm not sure if he is top 4 premiership level (although he is far better than anything Man U have at the back)

Wanyama isn;t lighting the prem, so you are you saying he is not as good as him?
Are you serious, how many players have come over from the SPL and proven successes. There hasn't been a quality player in that league since Henrik Larrson.

maybe the quality ones dont want to move, The SPL has had great players over the years
VVD has great potential and will need to move to the EPL to attain it. He is as good as Hansen was at Liverpool.
Wanyama would improve the Arsenal MF.
Arsenal captain = Former Gers player
I'm Scottish and know the players here.
Wanyama is shiiiite
Van Dijk would be a 4th choice option but a gamble at that.
Yeah Arteta played for Rangers. But 10 years ago SPL was reasonably competent.

Daym its so hard to find quality defenders these days
van Bronkhorst wasn't that good. At least not in the PL
GVB joined us in 2001 ffs, Arteta left Rangers in 2004. That's more than 10 years ago, a lot has changed since then. The SPL is currently Championship standard and I'm not saying that as a windup, the best player in the SPL (Wanyama) has been average since joining the PL. The only player in that league that I can see having a successful career in England is the Celtic GK (Forster or something like that).
Steven Naismith seems to have settled nicely at Everton, under a gaffer who encourages attacking play. He could be massive over the next two seasons.
Cast your minds back to almost four months before the summer transfer window opened... Go on, try it...
Okay, so how many 'links' were there to Arsenal signing Alexis back then?
How about Debuchy?
No?
Okay, how about Chambers, Ospina or Welbeck then?
Hey, you know what, save yourself the bother, I've got the answer right here for you...
There were none
Try to enjoy football for a few weeks, if not months, before starting to speculate on all this transfer hit bate bs the media machine refuses to stop publishing, even though the window has only just closed.
Go on... Sometimes actual football can be almost as enjoyable as transfers.
