This is a hard one.....I always like Gerrard, may be a prátt but was a very good footballer but my favourite was always Beckham. Loved the guy even though he played for the Mancs.

What about players like Bryan Robson and Paul Gascoigne, who were far from their peak in the PL but pre-PL were good?

I'd probably have it the other way around to be honest Mex, no arguments either way I suppose.

Gerrard, Adams & Terry off the top of my head making up a top five if you like.

Well yeah, but I would imagine OP meant players who were at their peak in the PL, otherwise Robbo and Gazza would arguably be in the top 2 or 3

One of the best centre-forwards I've seen play in this country especially in his Blackburn years, was not that far behind.

Amongst others.

He moved into the centre of midfield in the Premier League era for us & it was a seamless transitiion.

Class act.

Honestly when i think of both players at their best, i would rather have Gerrad ahead of Scholes.

But for me is Gazza, surprised no one has mentioned Barnes
