Least games ever?

Any business should be concerned when its profits fall by 84%.
Shareholders don't like that sort of thing.

I find it amusing too Robbing - funny how according to a lot of Man U fans it's not a problem at all!

Your 84% drop in profits. I found that funny. Hilarious may be a bit of a leap. Obviously that's offset by the sponsorship at the moment but am I right in thinking there would be around a 30% drop in this revenue if you don't get top four?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

A the BBC got another one hooked. Actually it was our Net income that dropped 84% due to a one off tax credit. Our revenue increased by 19% to £433.2m

However, that is now predicted to fall to between £385m and £395m.

Similarly, underlying profits were £130.1m for the year to 30 June and that is now forecast to fall to between £90m and £95m.

Regarding the top 4 comment, I would not worry too much about it.

Because you think Utd will get top four (which I don't) or because there won't be a 30% drop in the sponsorship money that was paraded round this baord like a trophy?

What you think and reality are 2 different things. For instance a lot of you including your captain thought you would win the league but it didn't happen.

We could lose a percentage of our kit deal if we do not get into the CL, but that percentage is still more valuable than LFC.

We will make the top 4, and I think it will be at your expense

You comment is daft and basically an oxymoron. If it's not that then it's simply arrogant.

I don't think you can get your best players on the pitch unless you play a back three or a diamond. If you do that then I think your side lacks pace. Falcao has an impressive record but has now had two cruiciate injuries which does not bode well and that's without the rumours regarding his age. I don't rate your defence and if you play the diamond then it'll have little cover. You have no RB cover whilst Rojo and Blind are unknown quantities. You've not won a game this season and also lost to MK dons whilst being with a manager who is known to fall out with players and get sacked at every big club outside of Holland - that's coupled with some big personalities within the squad and some of those won't be getting games as you're not in many competitions.

Liverpools attacking patterns seem similar to me and we were excellent against Spurs. We're already 3 points better off from the corresponding fixtures last season - win this weekend at home to Villa then we'll be 5 points better off from the corresponding fixtures last season.

With all due respect, and call me old fashioned, if the comment "What you think and reality are 2 different things." should be levelled at someone then it should be yourself.

Your first comment was daft and I decided to reciprocate by posting my own thoughts to highlight how daft it was to say anything about how this league will end.

On this thread you have posted figures you do not understand and have made a bold prediction after 3 games of football which is idiotic.

You also do not know a lot about the circumstances surrounding LvG's departure from Bayern and barcelona and appear to be again clutching and straws and wishing it all goes belly up for Utd.

LvG also has fallen out with players, same with every manager, clutching at straws again.

LvG will figure out how to get the best of our players, your concern however is appreciated but not needed.

Many thanks

The Sponsorship doesn't reduce until we spend 2 seasons out of the CL from when the sponsorship starts, which is the start on NEXT season. So we still have 2 seasons to get back into the champions league.

Shouldn't be a problem.

I'll stick with arrogant then. I see you've attempted to address the LVG comments - fair enough - the man does bang on about phylospohy after all.

What about my comments about the squad? You seem to have overlooked that for some reason.

No comments on here are needed, obviously, but I'd suggest that your arguably acrid response means they may have hit a nerve.

Yes it's only three games in but you're not playing world beaters there are you and so far have 3 points. LVG couldn't get a result against MK Dons when he had 6 internationals on the pitch.

You're squad is so unbalanced I feel it'll be your undoing and I don't think that is unreasonable.

posted on 11/9/14

I have no need to respond to the comments about the squad. You say the squad is unbalanced, well, that is for our manager to solve.

We've managed pretty well with an unbalanced squad for a while. You call me arrogant but boldly predict we will finish outside the top 4

I have said to many of your brothers and other people hoping against hope that we will fail, to wait till May. Be patient, by then you will have definite information to use to wum and not just speculation and pulling stuff out of backsides.

One last thing, regarding the squad, yours is still paper thing and lacks quality, so I would not be so arrogant.

posted on 11/9/14

Our squad has 25 players in it and I don't think you can judge the quality can you - or if you can it seems unreasonable that you think Rojo and Blind will make a difference. Markovic looks good to me, Sterlings kicking, Studge has goals in him and Lovren is settling well. Moreno is seemingly a large improvement and Coutinho has real quality. Lallana suits out style very well indeed I feel.

I guess I feel that's the difference between our two clubs - ours is a team that becomes greater than it's sum - yours is unbalanced (your manager has said this).

I'm not pulling anything out of my backside. You don't have RB cover, your squad does lack pace in certain area and it is hard to get your best players on the pitch in a workable formation.

You say I'm boldly predicting and then finitely say you will finish top four.

No offence but you just look more than a touch hypocritical.

You make it sound like we had Rooney Di Maria etc playing

We had 4 outield internationals start
Evans- Just back from injury
kagawa - no form whatsoever
Welbeck - squad player
Chich - squad player

The rest were reserves and bloody Anderson

Of course we should still have beat them but come on, it isn't like the team was riddled with seasoned internationals that are playing regularly for their countries atm

6 Internatinals took some part for Utd I think. How many for MK Dons? It wasn't a tight game but this was my favourite part from the feed;

"84 min: Marnik Vermijl gives the ball away down by the halfway line and the ball’s played forward to the substitute, Afobe. He rides not one... not two... but three feeble tackles from alleged defenders as he bears down on goal, before slotting the ball past De Gea into the bottom left-hand corner. MK Dons from the third tier lead Manchester United 4 – 0 and, if anything, the score line flatters the Premier League side."

Just giving my opinion and it's one that I feel holds weight. I'm not sure it's going to work out as well as you is all and I've stated my reasons for that. You do come across as hypocritical, which is fine, but it's not rational and when debating it undermines you.

Not sure it is wise talking about performances in cups against teams not in the top tier of English football, especially being a Liverpool fan

posted on 11/9/14

It wouldn't matter if I support Accrington Man Utd managed by LVG still got done 4-0 by MK Dons. I have no control over LFC, it's players or their performances. Never understood that stance. It's idiotic to suggest my thoughts should be censored due to a choice I made when I was four years old.

Think before you post.

One thing is for sure, if utd keep spending silly amounts and still don't reach the top. 4 there will only be one outcome!

posted on 11/9/14

I think there is a few teams that could come anywhere between 3rd and 6th. Either way it's going to be pretty tight I reckon.

posted on 11/9/14

Wow, so much anger and so much concern about Utd from scousers.

Who would have thunk it

posted on 11/9/14

Not really MUDD. In fact I feel you've embellished that in order to reinforce an already weak position. I cannot see any post of mine that comes across as angry. Quite the opposite with pragmatic and orderly responses.

It's a shame you become so militant when talking about Utd as I read one of your OT articles the other day and you come aross very well in my opinion where as on this subject you just look a bit silly to me.

Not talking to you my good man. Our discussion ended at the point when I asked you to wait for May before knocking one out about Utd

Like I said, I made that comment in response to your daft prediction.

You should not have the monopoly on silliness now, that's unfair

posted on 11/9/14

I don't believe you I'm afraid and at the least are behaving disingenuously. I also don't feel it's a daft prediction at all and have stated the reasons why which, to be fair, were more in depth than your lazy appraisal of Liverpools "thin squad".

posted on 11/9/14

Look my good man, our squad is poor, yours is phenomenal.

Our manager is clueless, yours is stupendous as he will not lose to MK Dons

Happy?
