Vert has a new contract which will be announced but as far as I last heard. Kaboul was to be named club captain. Lloris was to be named team captain with vert as a vice captain.

verts pulled a minor groin strain in training on friday hence why he missed sunderland.

bentaleb was left out because of his travelling but poor adebayor was back last of all of everyone on friday and had to play against sunderland! He looked shattered and to be fair I dont blame him on this one occasion.

So he goes and "smooths the way" is that really necessary? He couldn't talk Southampton or Villareal into selling the players we wanted. He couldn't talk Welbeck into choosing us..

Our signings were all well within our reach, I suspect the Siggy swap deal suited both sides and didn't need smoothing over..

I get what you're saying regarding the organisation that goes on behind the first team these days but I don't see how it's doing us any favours. The manager seems to be disposable while there are countless examples of how crucial they can be to achieving success beyond a club's means.
