I doubt it, the horse meat scandal has made these things very difficult to achieve.
We could sell him, reports are we rejected offers for him in the summer.

The view of his short substitute appearance is he came on, made a bad pass which went out of play, when he received it from a throw in and like the rest of our players charged with creating/scoring, failed to do anything against a packed Villa defence.
I'm certainly not gonna write him off after that as then I'd have to write the whole team off. He's shown enough potential to show that he should be given a chance, hence why he will be.

Looking at the Sunderland squad 2013/14 looks like the only other contenders in that age range would have been Connor Wickham(who spent most of the season on loan to championship sides) and Jack Colback(never in the running as he was Newcastle bound).
