Did fazio play?

Yup, he looked decent. I prefer him to Chiriches thats for sure.

Agree with the OP, we also learned that Kane isn't ready to lead the line for us. After a bright start he did little, wasteful in possession and in front of goal.

Soldado set him up a beaut and should be ahead of him in the pecking order for now IMO.

what did we learn?
1. We need a strong man in the midfield, someone of Sandro's abilities.
2. No point in putting in forwards Soldado and Lamela when the midfield is not strong enough to get them the ball.
3. Our backs are not good enough, particularaly on the left side.
4. Lloris, Vertoghen, Paulinho (first half), maybe Fazio were the only top 6 players Spurs had on the pitch.
5. If Spurs play like that against a side like this one, we'll not make top 6 this year.

I dont think the players that were left behind would have made much difference. We couldn't get the ball to the forwards in the penalty area, therefore there were no credible shots on goal (from us), and frankly we were lucky to draw.

I'd play Soldado with Lamela.
And I'd play Paulinho until he stops performing again.
He's an excellent player, I've seen him in Brazil, and he play wel first half against Partizan. Should have scored.

Oh yes, Harry Kane has got to go too.
He's just not good enough for the role he's been given in the team, not for top 6.

It was a good result. Decent side they are. Shocking pitch. Shadow side. Red hot atmosphere. Clean sheet

Job done. Well done spurs

Thought the poor pitch played a big part in preventing us being effective going forward.
By
Ben Davies had a shocker. They got in behind him time after time.

Townsend is the same Townsend. Head down and selfish. No guile to his game.

Strambouli was busy but gave it away too often and Bentaleb did not effect the game much

OK performance for an experimental line up

PB are diving cheats.

Let's not forget that Partizan are now unbeaten in their last 12 matches and are top of their league.

The pitch was very bumpy & we are used to playing on pristine pitches in the PL

0-0 away from home is an okay result in my book, several players had off days.

Townsend to me has no end product, head down and charge. Lennon is a shadow of his former self whilst Kane seemed out of his depth after his bright start. However leading the line needs a more mobile type of player such as Soldado.

Fazio looks like he will be a very addition to the squad, and Stambouli looks a good player.

That UEFA need to do something about racism in Eastern European football.

I think he's a good 3rd choice striker. Possibly our equivalent of Chicarito. Not in terms of style of play but in terms of substitute.

I don't mind the result. But to have no shots on target?!!!
Something wrong with the set up. In Poch's formation the three behind the striker need to be creative. what was highlighted yesterday is Lennon, Townsend and Paulinho do not have a creative pass between them.

These are one dimensional players and they need to be given one dimensional roles. Lennon and Townsend are wingers. Run and Cross. inverted wing play requires intelligence, a good pass and a good shot. Sadly I don't think they have any of those.

we learned nothing new. Lennon and Townsend reaffirmed that they can't do anything other than stay wide in plenty of space and run really fast. Put them inside and they look completely lost

We learned that Kane has a fear of the ball too

Based on what i've seen so far this season, Rose is a better choice than Davies

Oh, and we need to wrap Ade in cotton wool if we're to have any kind of danger up front

Lloris did well though

I think Soldado enjoys playing alongside Lamela. Unless Ade gets injured this won't happen. I do think that Soldado will definitely start in the Carling Cup.

Now that Soldado is fit he needs to play as many Cup matches as possible with substitute roles in the league games.

We need to give him game time without affecting Ade's consistency in the team.

Sad as it is our season's hopes rest on Soldado finding form. He's not going to find it sitting on the bench.

1. is Stambouli the answer?
2. I actually think Townsend Lennon and Paulinho are more to blame. They do not have great movement or football IQ. It means our CMs have no pass options.
3. Davies is disappointing but I'm happy to give him time to adjust. Naughton is Naughton...nothing more
4. Agreed
5. Luckily that will not be the team that plays in the league so I still have hope

Soldado will get plenty of chances throughout the season he just needs to take one every once in a while

i would like to see Ade and Soldado play together in some of the "easier" home games. We know Ade likes to drift and hold the ball up and he does that well, but it comes at a price in that nobody is left up top to attack the goal.

Said this many times..Ade is not a striker. He's a forward. His hunger isn't for goals its to play football. There's nothing wrong with that but when he's who you look to for goals then there can be a problem.

You can see the difference between Ade and players like Aguero, Costa, Benzema. These guys create space for a shot. Thats all they think about. Ade creates space for the fun of it. He never thinks 'Goal first'.

Hes a talented player. But I don't think he should be Spear-heading our attack. Unfortunately whilst Soldado keeps floundering Ade is the best we have.

• Partisan should be kicked out of the tournament
• Davies makes Rose look good
• The phrase ‘first touch’ doesn’t arise often in training
• Townsend and Lennon are just really fast
• Paulinho is a poor excuse for a Brazilian footballer
• Lamela grows with every game
• Fazio could be a great pairing with Vertonghan
• Stambouli looks competent
• Kane has a way to go to prove himself
• MoPo should have fielded his strongest team to kick start our contest

Not being funny but the banner raises a slight degree of hypocrisy. We had loads of fans wanting to be able to have Yxd chants. What does the word Yxd mean? So if the banner had said 'Only Yxds and Pu55ies' would that have been permitted?

Need to be careful what we wish for....Very careful.
