When I was about 5 I told my dad I was going to support Chelsea as 2 boys down my road did and he locked me out the house until I changed my mind. Last time I bowed to peer pressure as a kid, but being a Chelsea fan for 20 minutes still makes me feel a bit dirty

I had a friend who switched to Blackburn when they won the title.... a glory hunter yes, but not the brightest spark...

Thunderkiss did you not bow to the pressure of your dad who could also be classed as one of your peers ?

Does your dad count as your peer when you're 5?

Tis true although United fans were actually noisier last night.

We were up against the Spurs fans in the East stand and it was us that was singing the chit aeron lennon song at lennon himself

Away support are always noisier than home support

What I can't stand are so-called supporters who give it out before a match and when their team loses disappear like the fair weather fans they are.

Re the OP, having grown up in the 80's when being a liverpool fan was all the rage and watching kids in my school who didn't know the first thing about the club or who they were playing next, giving it out to other fans especially united fans like me, I can assure you these "species" were around then - including Spurs fans off the back of your FA Cup and UEFA cup glories at the time.

Now my opinion of the Spurs species of today. These are classed into two sets. The first lot are those who are all to quick to put their players and team on a pedestal following any crumb of success. Then can't wait to tear them down the minute they fail to perform. One minute you're as good as Chelsea or United, the next your whole team is rubbish and you're asking for the manager to be sacked.
The second lot are even worse. This lot just cannot be pleased no matter what. If Spurs were winning 4-0 they'd still find something to moan about why the performance wasn't good enough. They'd spend the whole post-match bitching about the lack of crosses or something. Basically these are the spuds that wish they'd chosen to be gooners.

Together both these groups merge into one another creating a horrid fickle mess of fans who let their emotions rule their heart over their head, and as a result end up looking stupid most times.
