Praying it's a 4-2-3-1 with Cazorla on the left, and not 4-1-4-1 again...

we need both Ozil and Wilshere to turn up for a full bloody 90 minutes, put themselves about, otherwise we are in trouble

More attacking line up from Chelsea than I might have expected - remember last year it was Matic and Luis who really destroyed us in the centre. Fabregas, though obviously brilliant, is a very different type of threat from Luis.

Sanchez - Welbeck - Ox

Just be glad Giroud isn't fit - we'd probably have even less pace up front.

i think Flamini is going to be turned into a statue today, probably get sent off at some stage, Wilshere probably close behind him

Yes, but it's all connected, GT. Pace upfront means that Chelsea can't risk pressing as high, which means less pressure on the midfield, and less chance we will get ripped apart in that area in the same way we did last season.

What you seem to forget is that you have to bring the ball in that area first and that depends on your midfield. If your midfield lose the ball there your strikers are lost.

Welbeck and Sanchez have pace, if we play ox we have no pace off the bench at all.

The threat of pace is there regardless - up against Giroud, Chelsea could squeeze us and put much more pressure on the likes of Flamini and Wilshere, like they did to Arteta and Rosicky last season. The Chelsea defence can't do that to the same extent against Welbeck, because always in their mind is the possibility that he can get away from them.

________

Welbeck can only get away when he receives the ball. When we dont win the challenges in midfield it produces pressure on our defense. Chelsea will press against the ball in midfield no matter what we playing upfront.

The point I'm trying make GT is that the threat is always there even if the ball doesn't keep making it to him, and that threat does affect how defenders react to the player.

We will concede at every corner

Only a discussion Someday. We will see. I say we have to win the midfield battle. If we lose here and leave too much spaces we will lose this game.
