Personally I think it is time to move on. He's not our player any longer and I think he was becoming frustrated at lack of opportunities at Leicester. He probably needed the move as well. New club, new challenge etc.
It suited both parties and im glad for him that it happened. And we got a decent fee for him too
I was disappointed that he couldn't make it under Sven because I still think he's a skilful player and will score goals. However, I agree with others - onward and upward. For whatever reason, it wasn't working for him here any more and both sides had to move on.
To be honest, where Sven wants to take us I don't think Matty would of been up to it. Although I was a fan when he was here, was time to move on for both parties really.
I personally didnt want him to go but maybe it was best for all partys. We made 1.5M, Fryatt plays and Hull get a good striker. Maybe there was a risk he was going stale here
I was a Fryatt fan as he is a goal scorer, which is a rare commodity at any level.
What I always thought was if he were to go from good to great - he'd need to improve his consistency. Scoring 20 goals in 20 matches would be much more valuable than scoring 20 in 10 and then going missing for 10.
I hoped he would gain that consistency with us. Now I hope he'll be one of those players who'll never quite be great.
Fryatt was a goalscorer when it suited him. He's a good Championship player when his confident is high but he's not the sort of player Sven would be interested in.
No doubt, whenever we are playing cr@p fans remember him as if he were Pele and label Sven a turnip for getting rid of him. His ghost haunts the Walkers when we are doing rubbish, with some fans.
why is this on the hull board ?
