Wenger out, simeone in, let's make a big decision for once instead of being too safe and sensible, fed up of it

Yes we are ARSENAL, not Spurs, Iand I hope to god that we never turn into them

It would take a great great manager to out perform Wenger. Thats why people say be careful what you wish for. You dont seem to grasp that there is a very very big chance, whoever we get wont be able to live up to Wenger.

What managers in the world do you think would come in to this team and turn them straight into the best in the world, superior to City and Chelsea?

Simeone has been managing for a long time and had one incredible year. Why do you think he would be the answer?

Why on earth would Simeone go to Arsenal?

The godfather is the most naive fan on here, happy to accept mediocrity, manager changes happen very often in football, just happens it's time for one at arsenal

Yeah I would rather risk getting someone new in with more modern ideas then endure this garbage for another two and half years. I hear people talking about finishing top 4, that really isn't good enough anymore. For what it costs to go to games the standard of football has to be higher. United got it wrong with their change but that doesn't mean the same will happen to Arsenal. Just wish Gazidis would grow a pair and at least put some pressure on the manager and stop talking about how difficult it will be to replace him he's only one man after all he's not bigger than Arsenal football club.

Can't we discuss ways in which we can improve performance on the pitch for the here and now? Discussing the manager's future every 5 seconds doesn't seem to me to be the answer, otherwise we will win the acclaim of being football's most ficklest fans.

Plenty of young managers around who can have a crack at it. You're not gna be guaranteed anything in football but whilst you have Wenger, you're stagnant. You don't need to be superior to city and Chelsea but you have to be dispatching teams like Hull at home and before you say or anyone else says it. Oil money is not the reason you drew today

Most Arsenal fans just don't realise how many cluibs would love to be in our position. In fact there are only two clubs at the moment who wouldn't, and in order to seriously compete with them we need more than a managerial change.

In order to truly compete with them there would need to be soem fundamental changes at boardroom level on top of any managerial change

But, given our fan base, our income and stadium etc, who is to say Arsene shouldnt be doing a lot better?
Maybe it is a risk, but we can be certain if we remain where we are, doing what we do, we will get the same results. At least with a new man we just might move on.

Spot on. You're also forgetting that Wenger has been at Arsenal for an age. I think you might have a Fergie style hangover if you cut ties too urgently. The next manager you take has to be perfect for your club. I can't see simeone or Klopp going anywhere for a long time and even if they did come to Arsenal, there is no guarantee they can out-perform Wenger. Look at AVB etc, hot property until he hit the prem.

Why can't we take a risk, we have been too safe for almost 10 years and that's got us 1 trophy, wengers built a great infrastructure but when it comes to team management he is average, we need a mourinho who does whatever it takes to win

I still have faith in Wenger but at the end of the day he always needs to prove himself, we will see.

One incredible year?

He took a side that was on the brink of going down and in the space of a few years won a European trophy, broke the stranglehold on Spanish football that Real Madrid and Barcelona have had on it for years oh and came within an inch of winning the European cup on limited resources. Hardly a one season wonder is he?

There's nothing wrong with taking a calculated risk, but do you really want to take a stab in the dark with the future of your football club?

Talk of a new manager being like the Moyes fiasco is a red herring. Someone like Klopp, who understands the Arsenal way, would take over quite seamlessly, and he would have the instant respect of the players.
The big difference would be Klopp would have actual tactics ( especially against the big boys), he would have ambition and he would build on the good players already here, adding the few key players Wenger point-blank refuses to get.
Just think about that prospect for a moment?
Would Chelsea and City fans be scared of that? Too right they would! Even I'm scared at the thought!!

posted on 18/10/14

Klopp would have a bigger budget to play with and would instill a game plan rather than the same, tired lethargic tactics that wenger employers whether it be against Hull or Chelsea

I'm sure £8M a year would tempt him

All judgements as to whether Wenger is up to the job should be left untill the end of the season. He hasnt had enough time to prove himself since we could start spending money.

Most of us said they were happy to see what he could do and to give him a chance with money after the fa cup win yet you have all changed your tune after 8 games ffs. There is still 7 or so months of the season to go.

It's not like Wenger can stay at Arsenal forever anyway. He's in his 60's so will naturally have to be replaced before long.

be careful what you wish for

any other manager would have had you out of the CL places (and below Spurs) years ago

We saw what he did in window, failed to buy a new DM and defender, that's now showing

So far there is no room for optimism bar a major turn around

Almost 100% that we would have dropped out of the top four by now with most managers out there tbh
