The early start to the season has hardly been vindicated considering that out of seven European games, only Dundee United has won a game.
Don't test me wee tree....Am on the brink!!!
C'mon the hoops................who cares about the rest.
PontiusP, normally I would agree....But it's got to the stage were we need to get a bit of pride back into the league.
The Duke I hope you are right
I am always right celticghirl
when the wife wants her evening coffee ill be RIGHT in to the kitchen to make it.
rangers and celtic will lose 2007/2008's co efficient points next season
that is almost half of what we have got in the past 5 season so if we both go out on thursday then next season we will be away down
if we both go out rangers will have around 19.000 co efficient points next season compared to 42.000 this season
celtic will go down to 15.000 co efficient points from 27.000 this season
as it stands that would put rangers about 80th in the rankings and celtic 95th,we would probally be left an unseeded team for any european draw next seaon
both desperate for a good run this year.think we will go through and celtic to go out with heart
The Duke - see you on here on Thursday night congratulating both teams then
You can also take Ajax's youth model into consideration aswell!
Before the ridiculous money flowed into the EPLand La Liga, Ajax used to be able to put a young team capable of competing in Europe and the Eridivise, they havent been able to do that since The Epl clubs bought up all the young talent of the world.
After the abject failure of last season in Europe it is imperative to qualify in order to bring in more financially.
you wont see me here on Thursday Ill be at the game then back to the pub
Ajax, Celtic and Rangers are all clubs in big leagues so this excessive capitalist system of the EPL has hit them hardest. I think excluding this season Ajax have failed to qualify for the UCL a lot in recent times.
Sorry, I hope Rangers get knocked out, and I'm sure most of their fans hope the same for us when we play Sion. Is it petty and should we look at the bigger picture? I would say so, but our rivalry has always been this way. It's a sad day when both sets of fans can't laugh at the likes of the Utrecht and Kaunas embarrassments.
Harvey - I disagree - I am going to watch the Gers game with some Rangers supporting colleagues from work and hope that the pub also shows the Celtic game - not sure if it is being shown in Scotland though
Fair play, Celticghirl, I'm not trying to change anyone's mind or criticise anyone who wants both to win
While I think both will go through I would ot be that upset if Celtic didnt.
Though it could mean 1 team having 6 more games than the other
Its one of those double edged swords I guess
I'm with Mr. Wippleman on this one, couldn't care less what happens at Ibrox, never have, never will
We both go out, then it's summer football pretty soon, albeit the first round qualifiers.
Ath - you sure about that I thought the SPL winners this season went straight into CL group stages ?
Ethel, I meant later seasons. We don't start picking up soon, then I think this will happen.
No I don't think we do get an automatic place, all that changes is that both teams get UCL qualifiers. But I am not too sure.
The stick I have taken from my pals down south saying Scottish football is finished after last Thursday, I just hope that we both go through, as for Hearts they are out and was shocked how bad they were
Now if we both go through I have a feeling one of us may get a EPL team and Celtic and Rangers always raise there game against English clubs, because I would love it if all English teams get knocked out and it's only a Scottish team or teams left in
Rangers I am sure will go through with that away goal, they have, as for us it will depend on our injuries and what Celtic team turns up
But I will be cheering both teams on Thursday
