Good to hear from you Alex. I presume you are looking after everyone. Best wishes.
NY everything is fine at home.
Forza, you are welcome to your opinion but for me its escapism especially when we win a very exciting derby game.
Just 3 more wins on the trot is that too much to ask for?
What I don't understand is why are these big clubs after Mckay's boy and yet we don't even put him on the bench.
Alex we are a million miles away from the top 6 with Dickov here. Based on points and games so far we will end up with around 58 points which is lower mid table or with his 30% win rate around 54, just staying up. As I said in the Bradford match thread the win masks over the problems but it's a welcome 3 points nevertheless.
Az,
We are only 8 points away from the play off's and with 2 games in hand of most teams, we are not that far away.
yet 3 points away from relegation! not that far away, which way will it go? I will guess and say "we will make the play off's"
Forrester and Main are very good signings couple that with loan signings of Taylor and Johnstone, its getting better all the time.
We need a good left back ASAP and if PD can get consistency out of this team, and I think he will, we will get in to the top six.
Just read my earlier comment and I should have said Butler and not Taylor.
Has our luck changed, has DickOff found his Lucky talisman. Lets be right about it, we would of got hammered by 4/5 on Saturday if it wasn't for Sam. Lets just hope it continues and we don't go back to winning one then getting beat a few times before we win another.
He said he wants to build on solid foundations, well with the spine we've got now of Sam, Butler, Wellens and Main he can't make any excuses as far as I'm concerned.
Zigger, you are right about the spine of the team now being good.
Butler certainly has made a difference, Main looks to be a leader as well and Johnstone is better than Steer.
If we had had those three throughout the season i think things would have been different.
Wellens is also getting back to his best as well.
I don't think Butler will be allowed to play against Sheff Utd in a fortnights time though which is a blow really.
Hound.
I could be wrong but I thought the game had been rearranged due to it being an internationals weekend. Anyone know owt.
There are International games that weekend BVZ so we probably will be called off again but there is nothing yet about it on the BBC or the OS.
It isn't good for the team in my opinion to be missing games like this - too much stop and start really.
That will put us three games behind most of the others if it is off.
How many players have to be called up before a match is cancelled?
If only McCullough is called up we could be left without him and Butler if the Sheff Utd game was still on because we hadn't had enough players away on International duty.
That would be even worse news.
Game will be off Hound with Furman McCullough and Johnstone the 3 on international duty. I think 3 is the minimum for a postponement
There is also Marosi Azza.
And Theo 'my left foot' Robinson
Has anyone else noticed that the NFL is spreading the word by playing games at Wembley Stadium.
The Scottish Premier League jumped on the bandwagon and last night's Ross County Aberdeen game was played in, wait for it, Hartlepoool.
Did you also spot that Paul Quinn scored the winner, it was an own goal
Obviously Brammall hasn't got wind of the NFL project yet but i bet the Keepmoat will be volunteering its availability now.
I popped over to the ground yesterday to get some tickets for the JPT game next week and Roger Tuby was setting up a Fair on the Alick Jeffrey way.
More funds for the rugby club coffers?
Notts County game 18th November.
At the moment Sheff utd game is on due to a lack of international call ups.
mmmm, if McCullough is called up then we will be without him and Butler so that means McCombe and either Wabbara or Wakefield at the centre of defence.
Not good.
It seems as though both McCullogh and Furman have been called up for duty and that Sam Johnstone is likely to be in the England Under 21 squad.
Taking into account that Butler is unlikely to be allowed to play we look like we will have very little in the way of a defence for the Blunts game.
I can't understand why the club are not trying to get the game called off?
How managers see things differently:
After the Weeds v Charlton game, Redfearn says that Leeds were the better side by streets and deserved to win.
The Charlton manager said his side were the better team and that "2-1 to us would have been more justified than 2-1 to them".
Arsene Wenger slammed his players last night after drawing after leading 3-0.
He didn't accept that he was to blame and firmly blamed the team.
Stuart Gray at Sheff wed complains that his team are a Jekyll and Hyde side at the moment.
Rotherhams manager said his team "lacked endevour, spirit and fight".
It isn't just our manager that comes up with reason (some might say excuses) when we don't get the result that we all want.
That is just football and the way it is.
Thing is Hound you are correct!!! However, we are all Rovers supporters and as such expect much more from OUR manager than we do from those at other teams.
All managers come up with "reasons" for losing.
It's when the team keeps losing and the excuses get tedious that supporters get fed up!
All managers come up with "reasons" for losing, mainly because the media put them on the spot.
You wouldn't think so though Doc, and i heard you the first time by the way.!!
Like i said the other day, about 18 or so managers in every division have inconsistent performances from their teams which is why they aren't in the top six or so places.
In their hay day, Wigan Rugby League club won everything. Maurice Lindsay, their Chairman at the time said other clubs should try to be as successful as Wigan.
When you consider there were three trophies and they won them all, then every other team and manager was destined to be a failure in his eyes.
Even coming second was failure. How many people remember the losers in an FA Cup Final? Very few,
unless it was their team.
Success an failure are very close to each other like genius and idiot, it only takes a little to go from one to the other.
