I would actually play Lennon and Lamela as Lennon was pretty good during the week

-----------Kaboul-----Fazio-----Vertonghen----------

Walker--------Capoue-----Eriksen----------Rose

Lamela-----------------------------------------Chadli
-----------------------Soldado--------------------------

It's a 3-4-3, a la Wigan cup winning year. Impenetrable defence, multi-faceted attack, Soldado getting adequate support and service, and therefore scoring at will.

Dissenters will be exterminated. Thank you and good night.

P.S. If Mr. Levy sees this, I can start Monday and will work for free.

He will drop Ade but convinced he will keep faith with Kaboul

Hugo
Walker Kaboul Vertonghen Davies
Capoue Mason
Lamela Eriksen Chadli
Kane

Davies cos Rose provides width but absolutely no end product.. I don't care if Kane is a 'proper' striker or not, he's in better form than the other two.

Beat me to it ACE

Lennon and Townsend are good to bring off the bench, wouldn't start either though. We need Walker or Yedlin in this team so we don't have to use Rose on the overlap so much. Dier can cross a ball better and he's a CB apparently.

Lloris

Naughton Fazio(dunno) Vertonghen Rose

Mason Capoue

Lamela Soldado chadli

Kane

It really is depressing to see not many people actually grasp what is wrong with our shape.

Too much Football Manager

The way we are playing now is reminiscent of the worst of AVB. That isn't coincidental.

When Walker is back, or Yedlin arrives, it may change but there are still doubts.

The fullbacks have to be very good at it - pace, width, taking a player on, final ball. Otherwise it falls down.

Kane as the line striker too. Talk about kill the kid before he gets in to double digits in the league

HRH

Didn't you want to bring Lennon back into the fold on another article (apologies if i am mistaken)? Change our entire system that we've used for couple of seasons to accommodate a rubbish player like Lennon

posted on 3/11/14

Lennon or Townsend should start in my opinion, yes. For one reason I don't believe our first choice fullbacks are good enough to do the job anyway, for two we don't actually have them available.

In the instance it should be Lennon on the right, simply because we offer absolutely nothing down the right side. Nada. Everyone cramped in the width of the penalty box.

But of course Lennon is rubbish. How could he improve the dynamic attacking outfit we've been witnessing of late.

Tbf HRH, it seems like you only form an opinion on our side on the basis of wether or not it has width.

We probably need more width as our players lack the talent to perform in this system currently, but that is not to be said that it can't be done.

It's very on-trend among Spurs fans to certain players though.

I seem to remember LukaCoruka you saying it was down to Bale and Modric he looked good previously. ridiculous. He was our most exciting player at a time when Modric was still at left mid and Bale was still waiting for his first win, with Palacios in
n the side.

Width is just one factor, but as it stands it is the glaring one.

Essentials for me are:

A centre forward able to hold it up
Pace and width on both flanks (FB or mid)
At least one CM who will pick a pass
A strong header of the ball at CB
A quicker CB

Not many teams have been successful in England (if any ) without them

I agree except for point B, I would replace that with a player willing to make runs behind the defence. Which is what I think we lack, too many players show for the ball. Doesnt stretch the defence.

you remember correctly

Lennon feasted on the service Bale and Modric provided in a system that suited him. Ever since Modric left Lennon has gotten worse and worse, and today finds himself alongside Paulinho, unable to make even the Europa bench

he hasn't adapted to a narrow role in a system which we've played to for some 3 seasons now, he is useless and you want to bring him back in at the expense of all the work that has gone into playing the system we play

then you accuse others of being Football Manager experts

ridiculous

posted on 3/11/14

Which is why I'd prefer one of Lennon or Townsend to start. You stretch a team sideways and it opens up more space. Too much congestion, too hard to thread a ball to a runner even if you wanted too

Two seasons . Some of the most boring football I have witnessed to be honest.

But all hail the system

Tbf, Lennon was at his best when we had a midfield of Huddlestone/Palacious. He just thrives off of a good passer.

posted on 3/11/14

Should never have sold Hudd. Capoue is a pale imitation.

posted on 3/11/14

You are a big Hudd fan, I'm still not sure.
