I think it's that LVG seems to be going somewhere, whereas no one understood what Moyes was trying to do
Probably because he has a track record in winning trophies, and is likely to turn it around.
But so far, he has been just awful, and there really is no excuse.
I don't rate LVG at all. His arrogance is ridiculous. I know he's had a pretty successful career but he usually falls out with the club within a few years.
I know Poch hasn't been great so far, but long-term he's a much better bet than LVG.
im afraid to say United are a couple of top defenders away from having a formidable side again.
The attacking talent they have at their disposal is incredible.

Because without an unlucky amount of injuries to defenders and another transfer window, he will get it right.
Not saying he shouldn't be doing better though, he really should be.

"Because without an unlucky amount of injuries to defenders"
Is it unlucky? Didn't you guys get rid of both Vidic and Rio and replace them with Rojo?
Like poch he needs time to put things right
Lvg was last very successful in the 90s
I'm not sure if reputation has or should have an expiry date

Yes but that has nothing to do with injuries, stopping us from having a consistent defence for any amount of time.

Vidic and Rio leaving were down to Moyes - by the time Moyes was sacked Vidic was already gone.
That said, losing Rio clearly wasn't that big a blow - look at him now. We've also lost Evra and had to replace him (which has been on the cards for a few years). Basically our back 4 at any given time is a little bit shít

Difference is he's spent £150m and United need instant results.
Would be criminal if he can't get United top 4 with that squad and the weakness of their rivals.

It does because Smalling and Jones are basically permacrocks, only played more than 20 times in league in 3 of 7 seasons (combined) and neither has ever played 30 times in the league, so not sure where the expectation came from that they could play reguarly?

Dont cry for me Argentina we have Pochetinno and Lamela (formely avb easy as 123) (U17539)
I don't want to be rude or anything. However, Spurs are going nowhere. You don't have the resources or the team or the manager do anything but do what you have done for the past 2 decades. between -4th and 6th is all you can hope for.
Utd have the resources to fix the problem but time is key/
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Moyes got hardly any cash compared to LVG, the Mata signing was pure panic to shut the fans up.
If throwing endless amounts of money around makes him a great manager its just as well he didn't come to spurs
You both need to follow our example and stick with your manager. Stability is key.

Vidic and Rio are both awful now, Struggling at both current clubs Moyes did the right thing getting them to leave.
I think that had Vidic stayed at United, he wouldn't have suffered such a drastic drop in his ability. Rio had been on his way for a while. Of course, there's no evidence of that, but it's a gut feeling.
Chris, lots of us were worries about having Smalling, Jones and Evans as our main CBs given that none of them can stay fit. Rafael also gets injured a startling amount, and Shaw has just come back from an injury.

"Chris, lots of us were worries about having Smalling, Jones and Evans as our main CBs given that none of them can stay fit"
And rightly so, it appears.
So do you agree with me that it's not really bad luck that you're struggling to fill defensive slots - rather bad business in the transfer window?
Not just the money spent but the lack of distractions. Having no European football should be a godsend if you want to try and break into the top 4.
I still expect them to turn it around, but still, really poor stuff so far from a supposedly experienced and successful manager.
I have seen sides with worse defensive problems than Utd before, yet it is used as an excuse.
Realistically the summer transfer policy from LVG was odd and it is now costing them.
