United 1-0 Palace

Looks like Fellaini's recent performances clouded some people's judgement. He played exactly like the way he played while at he was at Everton.

Its understandable that we used such tactics against stronger teams like Chelsea and City but is there really is no need for that against Palace?

If we continue to play like everton under moyes we will continue to end up where Everton ended up under Moyes. How many top clubs use a "fellaini" at CM?

Players like Fellaini should not be starting for United unless we are the clear underdogs.

I see Fellaini is back to being pant villain

I think the lack of movement from the front 4 is more problematic... But blame it on the villain

Carrick can but he is playing in defense. What has Van Gaal got against Pereira and Herrera that Fellaini now seems first choice and since he has come in we can't win a game.

Why's Rooney so fecking deep.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Somebody has to try and make something happen, Carrick and fellaini are scared to odd more than 10 yards
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No,sorry but Rooney needs to play further uptop irrespective of Carrick and Fellaini.
If Rooney played uptop it'll leave more space in midfield for Carrick and Afro-man to play forward balls more regularly.Simple.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The reason why Rooney is playing more deep is because we have the two slowest crabs in the Premier League, Fellaini and Carrick.

These guys are so slow to move the ball further up the pitch, that it becomes impossible to create any space for any of the guys up front.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And yet Carrick and Fellaini have played more forward passe's than Rooney.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course they have, they have all be time in the world, and are playing in midfield. Rooney is having to come backwards to get the ball, if the midfielders could find our forwards we wouldn't have this issue.

He is the villain because he is keeping out our best midfielder, neither is he providing some of the things required of a midfielder.

Man United attempted 11 crosses in the first half, none of which were completed.

Nor for them, Januzaj has had two, maybe three chances one on one with the defender? di Maria hasn't had one.

Again, it's the lack of supply from midfield, the square, 10 yard passes into feet.

We have two players on the bench that can pass the ball well.

One or both should come on. We cannot play through the middle properly with this current formation and the players playing it.

Our only outlet is on the wings and the wingers aren't on it today so it's become so pedestrian.

What have I missed?

Sounds like we've been poor.

Fellaini definitely needs to come off.
Stands around a lot, but doesn't offer much in the way of attack or defence.

Pant villain?

Is that like some reprobate that pinches your kecks from the washing line?

Fellaini is not a villain, just an average one dimensional footballer

Delaney and Ward on bookings, I think that's why RvP tried to turn Ward inside out, knowing he can't lunge.

I expect Di Maria and Januzaj to run more at these players second half.

Wayne Rooney registered more touches inside Man Utd's box in the first half (3) than he did in Crystal Palace's (0).

BTW just noticed Barcelona are 1-0 down to Almeria at half time. Since Suarez has come in the demise of Barcelona has started. Suarez on the bench today. Could be 3 league defeats in a row, funny they looked like barely dropping a point this season to fallding down the league table out the top 4 if things stay the same.

take of di maria, he's been crap for the last few games

oh wait we cant, got no other wingers

Ironic that since he was included in their side they've lacked bite...

In my opinion, since his arrival at OT, Fellaini still has around £26.2 Million of his fee to re-pay. It'll be a small cheque he writes tonight, for sure.

Well said.

I asked at the beginning why we had BOTH Carrick and Fellaini on? It seems that answer has not been properly answered.

We are at home, playing C. Palace. Even with our make-shift back four, we should not be setting up like this!

You really don't understand the dynamics of playing against a team putting 10 men behind the ball, do you?

Carrick and Fellaini are capable of picking out passes, but they need movement.

I know it is hard to blame the poster boys, but the front 4 are just as much to blame

was doing great in a diamond but we needed to change that for a formation that suits literally nobody else except... fellaini. And people wonder why he is the "villain"
