Thudd, if we're being honest with ourselves, after the summer transfer window, did any of us realistically expect anything different to that?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No mate, not in the slightest, I didn't expect us to lose against Newcastle, Stoke, West Brom so easily, to lose from positions where we could have kicked on and won
Europa League is killing us, anyone who say's otherwise is deluded
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's what I've said all along, and why the manager shouldn't be so harshly criticised. If he wins Europa and we finish in mid-table then he'd actually have done a good job.
People pin their hopes up that Mussachio/Schneiderlin would make a drastic difference.
As many have said Ade is right, but currently you couldn't pick a player worse than him to criticise the fans.
What I don't understand is that everybody can see that this squad is predominantly average, everybody can see that Poch is going to need time and it won't be a quick fix (or getting 150m to spend like Van Gaal).
Yet everyone is booing and starting to turn on the manager.

But they would though. Both are fantastic players and both are leaders which is what we are seriously lacking. Musacchio would of replaced the absolute atrocious Kaboul and we would better for it. Schneiderlin would of added that much needed steal in the centre. He is running southamptons midfield and you only have to speak to southampton fans to know this. These 2 would of made a huge difference but instead we go for the average dross.
Ade also said that this is the 3rd or 4th manager so we can't keep chopping and changing..... Well if it's not the managers fault shouldn't the fans be questioning the players?

Spurtle, the moment we went down the usual levy route in not purchasing the required quality I just knew it could potentially go t its up. Musachio and Schneiderlin are 2 players that would of made a huge difference to this club. I know people will say they were hard to get etc etcetc but we could of got these players if we would of come in early with decent enough offers. Villereal said themselves that Spurs didn't offer anywhere near the money they wanted and this is the problem with Spurs and levy. Instead he buys some 2nd rate cheap alternatives in Fazio and stambouli who have so far proved to both be a bunch of donkeys and adds to more deadwood to this already average squad of ours. Davies not being able to shaft rose from the team is actually laughable.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, people have too high expectations of Poch if they expect him to be constantly winning games, not just with players that aren't his, but with a squad that has been hilariously overrated, and is actually fairly average.

From what I have seen of Mussachio he isn't that promising. Yet both players would have come into a club of transition, adapting to a new system under a new manager (still applies for MS despite the manager remaining constant), in a team which has a lot of issues and needs a lot of time and patience to work on. The difference they would have made IMO is little.

That is so funny, the two blokes AKB/WOB having a right argument at each other
Galv, I think it might have been the same for AVB too, seeing Europa as the bigger priority and hence the decent results.
If that is Poch's approach then I don't blame him. More chance of winning Europa than top 4.
As for the CL drop-outs, not all of those big teams will put everything into it.
Would be interesting to see what everyone's season expectations were during summer. I reckon most the people would have said top 8, plus a few good cup runs. Which we seem on track for.

Any one who plays football will know it's a confidence thing. All of our players are capable of way more than they are showing right now and there is a clear lack of confidence.
Whoever thinks that confidence will return when the team is being booed and moaned at from the stands needs their head read.
Fans need to realise that they and the team are in this together.
In any walk of life, if you are struggling then its the support of those around you that gets you through and then when you come out the other end the bond between you and those who helped you is stronger.
If you are having troubles, say at work, and your boss and colleagues/boss gives you no slack then when things pick up it will be down to yourself and you will not thank or have respect for those who failed to support you.
I want our players to play well and score because they dont want to let down our great support who stood with them shoulder to shoulder when times were tough..... not because they feared getting booed if they don't do well.
This 'I paid my ticket I'm entitled to boo if I like' is total hypocrisy. Fans bemoan the lack of connectivity between players/fans/the club, blaming the commercial focus of football(ers). Yet many apply the same commercial approach to their support, the view that buying a ticket entitles you to do want you want is not the definition of support.
If we can get a decent striker and defender in Jan then we should be able to challenge for a cup or 2.
What the fack is going on at this club?!

Some hope? Well realistically we SHOULD beat Newcastle so have a chance to get to Wembely for the Carling Cup. 1st or 2nd place doesnt matter in the Europa so we will promisingly progress in a good competition. We are still in contention for top 4 despite not clicking yet.
A change of fortunes could change anything.
