Any one who plays football will know it's a confidence thing. All of our players are capable of way more than they are showing right now and there is a clear lack of confidence.
Whoever thinks that confidence will return when the team is being booed and moaned at from the stands needs their head read.
Fans need to realise that they and the team are in this together.
In any walk of life, if you are struggling then its the support of those around you that gets you through and then when you come out the other end the bond between you and those who helped you is stronger.
If you are having troubles, say at work, and your boss and colleagues/boss gives you no slack then when things pick up it will be down to yourself and you will not thank or have respect for those who failed to support you.
I want our players to play well and score because they dont want to let down our great support who stood with them shoulder to shoulder when times were tough..... not because they feared getting booed if they don't do well.
This 'I paid my ticket I'm entitled to boo if I like' is total hypocrisy. Fans bemoan the lack of connectivity between players/fans/the club, blaming the commercial focus of football(ers). Yet many apply the same commercial approach to their support, the view that buying a ticket entitles you to do want you want is not the definition of support.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I do agree, Dev
And I've never been driven to boo and it's frustrated the h3ll out of me in the past when those around me have done it.
BUT - right now, we're not only seeing a team low on confidence needing a boost - we're seeing a team apprently not TRYING to get it right. And this is where I can understand the boos if not condone it.
Galv you can't always read too much into specific performances and have them apply to any other opposition. People were expecting us to get humped by Arsenal based on our WBA performance, and we actually ended up playing well. I strangely reckon we'd up our game against tougher opposition.

What the fack is going on at this club?!
How have we let it get to this?!
Somebody give me some hope to cling on to that this season isn't yet another facking write off by November
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Some hope? Well realistically we SHOULD beat Newcastle so have a chance to get to Wembely for the Carling Cup. 1st or 2nd place doesnt matter in the Europa so we will promisingly progress in a good competition. We are still in contention for top 4 despite not clicking yet.
A change of fortunes could change anything.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Still in all the cups as of November
Actually - everybody else (bar Chelsea) are completely sheet too so we're not too far short in points right now if it does improve.
If
If you play crap, you are going to get booed because it is the fans hard earned money being wasted to watch like Adebayor mis control a ball. Not all of us are like Arry who will just wrap his arm around you to cheer you back up.
Mentally weak, want to run away from the problem rather than face it and overcome it. That's why we are where we are. When the going gets tough our players are shrinking violets. Oh dear.

Look at it this way - Teams mid-table or lower always have good cup runs:
Sunderland last season reached the League Cup final.
Wigan won the FA Cup the season before.
Birmingham City won a League Cup.
Fulham reached the Europa final.
Spurs reached a League Cup final twice.
There's been an example for each year for as long as I can remember. All finished mid-table or lower, and all beat big teams along the way.
We need to take advantage of our mid-table mediocrity this season in the same way.

Bye bye 4th place and 5th, and 6th, and 7th, and 8th
If we can't win a cup or get to a final while being piiss poor in the league then we've seriously failed.
Have we failed already Spurts
Not really Thudd. I think we've done about as well as we can with these players.
Depends what you mean though. Has Poch failed? I wouldn't say so, and it's too early to decide anyway. To anything else you're referring I would say yes.

We did better last season with an even weaker and more injury ravaged bunch!

There's only 1 point difference between the two seasons so far when comparing the same league fixtures.
Ultimately, we're not going to know if it's better or not until the end of the season.
