Tbone you'd hate it if he came to Chelsea wouldn't now.

No not at all ifarka. I would prefer the best players in the world to be in the league I watch weekly.

I just can't see Munich letting one of Germans best players go to a foreign club.

The ever reliable Marca

Reus would be the type of signing that would allow us to realistically compete against the Reals and Bayerns of this world.

As it stands I still think we're a player short of being able to beat those sides.

T bone, well you've just gone up in my estimation.

Reus has stated he will not join Bayern due to his ties with Dortmund supposedly , but thew rag which is Marca is not to be taken seriously until after the fact.

He’s been very dismissive of Bayern in the past, I think we’ve got a great chance to sign him. Mourinho surely knows we can’t just rely on Hazard when you look at our top rivals in Europe, most have two or three tops, top skilful and direct attackers.

You just know he'll go to Madrid.

We have leverage if the rumours are true they are interested in Schurrle.

I think we are a quality Right winger and striker off being up there with the Elite, Yes we have diego however I'm talking about a quality back up striker. Don't think Remy is that striker.

Where will he play at Real ?? They already have Ronaldo, Bale and James.

By comparison we have a space on the right ready made for Reus.

Them being interested in Schurrle doesn't give you any leverage at all if the supposed buy out clause is there in the summer.

Superb, like that matters.

posted on 13/11/14

Well if us and yourselves match the buy out clause we could throw in Schurrle to sweeten the deal.

Of course it matters.

That's not how a buyout clause works. How does throwing a player in sweeten the deal on a buyout?

Superb, nah this is Real Madrid we are talking about.

If Madrid buy Reus, then they might have to sell Isco (which is good enough for us).

The advantage Chelsea have in their Schurrle interest is only relevant in January, if we want him that is the time to make a move. I’m not sure other clubs will want to offer way over his summer clause in January but they may let him go if they have a ready made replacement lined up without losing out finically. Of course it comes down to the player but I think he is receptive to Chelsea among perhaps 4 possible clubs, we need to show real purpose in trying to sing him as we’ve shown in recent deals.

Marca are terrible tbf

posted on 13/11/14

I think given Dortmund's recent struggles in the league that selling him in January probably won't happen.

They may be able to get more money, however, they'll limit their chances of getting into the CL again.

I'd love him at United but I imagine it'll be Madrid or Bayern where he ends up, despite what he says.

Just out of curiosity how do you think someone like reus would affect the balance of the team. We all know mourinho likes hard work and We've already substituted a grafter for fabregas, which isn't a problem in most games but we've seen the effect it has had on us in the bigger games. Iv not seen much of him but could reus put in the sort of shift willian/hazard/oscar does if required ?

posted on 13/11/14

Yes definitely.

Dortmund are one of the hardest working sides in Europe.

I dunno about that. As part of a couple of different targets absolutely but not on his own.

the fact he can leave for around 20 million due to a clause in his contract gives you no leverage whatsoever
