Would say that Roy should probably not play him when he's clearly badly out of form, though I suppose he was only a sub. That's a more general point for national managers though.

How good was Rooney?

We certainly look better without gerrard and lampard in midfield much more pace and energy about the play. Gerrard was well past it for a long time. But I bet if he hadn't retired roy would still play him. So probably gerrard retiring has been the best contribution he's made for about 10 years.

True that it's no coincidence that we look better when Henderson isn't playing.

TKT, don't know what you are talking about. 1st half was even, England edged it. 2nd half was very one sided. We could have scored more goals. Scotland's goal came out of nowhere. 3-1 was a very fair result.

By the way useless Jack Wilshere who offers nothing to the England squad was named man of the match for the 4th game running

No need to blame Sterling. A young guy who goes to a difficult period. That happen to every young player who quickly came into the limelight. To me he looks overplayed. He lost a bit of confidence. He will come back. No doubt about that. Good player.

Jack was good in tonights friendly. still dno how the mug Townsend gave him MOTM vs Slovenia though, I didn't even know he was on the pitch he was that anonymous was harsh on Clyne who was clear MOTM vs Slovenia. Did well tonight though, still likes to run into 3/4 players and ends up on his backside a lot when hes easily bullied off the ball. But plays a lot better further forward.

Sterling is young. Let's not go overboard. He has talent in abundance. When wilshere was getting all the stick, I wouldn't buy it. The guy will be class.

Truth is Scotland didn't really do anything to threaten us, the only good move they put together ended in a goal too. Their left back Robertson looks promising.
