No he really hasn't. He's awful in the air (Swansea's winning goal was his fault), and he's not quick enough to compliment mertesacker.
As awful as he is, at least Koscielny has a bit of pace about him. We can't have too slow CBs against one of the best attacks in Europe.

No it wasnt his fault. We were naive as fack and didnt stopp the cross before. Mertesacker is responsible for his own performance and has to do better.
Monreal did well. Mistakes came from everywhere on the pitch.

-------------------------------------------------
Yes it was his fault. He caught by Gomis and should have done a lot better. He didn't because he's a 2nd choice LB playing in an unnatural position. YES, considering he is a part time CB, he has done well. But he is most definitely the weak link in the defence
It makes much more sense to play a proper CB, Chambers, in his suited position. And considering Chambers is awful at RB, I don't see how bad bellerin can be.
At CB, all the time Chambers >>> Monreal

Obviously I don't think Koscielny is really awful. He's just massively overrated. But I would certainly have him as CB for the United game.
I dont know what you are on about. Monreal did well so far this season.

Fack sake
We should absolutely slaughter these jokers on saturday. Wenger's biggest failing last year was giving these clowns too much respect last season. If we play like we can then this should be over pretty quickly.
A draw would be an absolutely fantastic result for united and thats what LVG will be going for
For once, Godfather is actually talking sense.
Let's hope they don't celebrate a draw like they did against Chelsea
Embarrassing.

Drop your pre loaded criticsims, open your eyes and look objectively rather than just pushing brainwashed pre conceived ideas.
Monreal has been good in that cb position for us for a good while, even outperforming Per at at times.
Just because saying Monreal is poor at cb is the fashionable thing to do after we didnt sign a centre back, doesnt mean its the actual truth.
That didn't last long....
"We should absolutely slaughter these jokers on saturday. Wenger's biggest failing last year was giving these clowns too much respect last season. If we play like we can then this should be over pretty quickly"
Considering the fact that they have schooled us for the last 3-4 years it will anything but a slaughter.
I don't trust us defensively to hold out rvp and Rooney especially with no koscienly

Saying that, even though Monreal has performed well, Ill admit we need better than him at the moment. We desperately need a top class cb back there. We need Kos back asap
Chambers over Monreal, any day of the week. Bellerin is young and inexperienced, but at least he has some pace. Better to play him at RB.
Let's hope they don't celebrate a draw like they did against Chelsea

Given Arsenal's recent results against Chelsea I would have though you'd be in no position to determine what is "embarrassing".
I think both sets of fans think the opposition are more likely to win than their own team.
Its been 3.5 years since Arsenal won this fixture I think, when the curse of Ramsey killed Bin Laden. So you should be due a win. We've probably just about got enough players to scrape an XI together. But there will probably be only 2 natural defenders in the team, Smalling and Shaw, if fit.

The last few years have been some embarassing mental block that even spurs were able to shake off and subsequently give them hidings every time. They are the worst organised team in the top half and even with Ozil playing cb I would expect us to have enough to utterly control the game and put many enough goals in the back of the net.
This game is a key one for sure. You lot think I am some kind of Wenger apoligist but I will seriously question if he has what it takes, if we dont win this game (save for some kind of freaksih ref'ing or players sent of etc) We have had 2 weeks to prepare for this and frankly we need to be blowing them away.

I agree. I can see why we persisted with Monreal cb against the swans, we have had too much chopping and changing this season and wenger wanted some consistency. However Chambers has the perfect attributes for cb and has looked damn impressive in that position this season. I think Monreal should defintely start rb, as I said hes performed well for us recently. Surely you cannot deny this?
It's good to hear a bit of fighting spirit. I strongly suspect at least some of the team would be unable to resist the temptation to dip into these forums, and how depressing that would be! Most supporters have reconciled themselves to abject defeat, and are listing how 'awful' our players are.
The worst thing about these boards is we rate our own players on a scale of two, one being world-class, the other being 'awful', nothing in between.
Personally, I am keeping my fingers crossed that Ramsey regains his form; Walcott returns with a vengeance; Sanchez doesn't give up, feeling he's a one-man team by default like Henry, Van Persie and Fabregas before him; and that the whole team can find their bottle, spurred on by a Sanchez/Walcott/Welbeck/Rosicky powerhouse.
