Rodgers has a habit of being stubborn and seems to play his favourites whether or not they are any good. His choices are appalling at the moment with personnel, and also with persisting with a formation and tactics that has been found out again and again, and which just wastes the talents of Sterling and Coutinho.

He is doing everything wrong atm that could possibly be wrong as a manager, and I for one am sick of seeing him have no answer to it and keep suggesting that 'we'll improve' etc, while he then just persists with the same ideals and plan week in week out, and somehow expecting different results to come.

He really is clueless atm, and if he doesn't change something with his approach then he has to go imo.

Liverpool need to get shot of Mignolet and Skrtel asap, they are both absolutely hopeless and total liabilities. I still can't believe he brought in 8-9 new players and not one of them was a decent keeper who can push Mignolet (who is just dog terd and exhibits the confidence of a car with 3 wheels) to the bench.

Gerrard at DM is also just pointless when we have no fluidity to counter teams atm, it needs to be Lucas or even Can there if Lucas is stupidly sold (just like Agger was). Unfortunately, Rodgers acts like a stubborn kid and won't change what is needed when it is needed (a huge difference between him and his mentor Mourinho, and clearly something he didn't learn when he had the chance). He has no concept of defending whatsoever, so while goals aren't coming, I just can't see us winning games at all. Even if we score you know he has no idea how to defend a lead, so we always look vulnerable to an attack. We make other teams look good at the moment, and that is never a good sign.

Rant over.

as im sure u appreciate mr Rodgers, its very confusing after last season when u were tactically flexible, strong on poor form players being dropped or shipped out all together and our style and approach was clear and consistent no matter the personnel. so mr Rodgers I ask again, why?

I trust in Rodgers to get it right in time.

I'm sure it's very confusing for Rodgers also and that's why he's tried many different ways. However for me, we've lost two top strikers and none of our current crop can replace those goals. That's the short of it.

Yep. How many goals did Sturridge and Suarez bag last season?

Very sad watching the likes of Coutinho and Sterling struggle to create chances, but where are they supposed to pass the ball to? Added problem with the fact neither of those two players are natural goal scorers.

Also very sad to see Gerrard not scoring from open play much these days. That was another aspect that used to save us.

Looks like we must take the plunge into the January transfer market but it won't be easy.

The last few seasons have been so close in terms of transfers, with Costa, Sanchez,Mkhitaryan and Willian no doubt would have improved us.

Seems we struggle to attract the players.

Yes and that's a real worry. It's a very laudable idea to have performance based wages but lets face it there are quite a few players who want to see the cash before putting own to paper.

It's true about the strike force but we'd be creating a lot more if we still closed and harried from the front. Hunting in packs of 2 or 3. That was a large secret to our success along with the pace and movement up front

There's just no tempo to anything we're doing this season.

Lallana and Coutinho drifted in and out of the game too much yesterday and we should atleast be looking to getting Sterling on the ball as much as possible but we're not even doing that

There was a couple of moments yesterday when Lambert was running hard and pressing the defence and then he looked behind him and there was no one else pressing. He waved his hands basically saying get a feckin move on. This pressing as a team is something we don't do at all this season.

If we can't attract top (big name) players why do people think we can attract a top (big name) manager?

They have the same agents as the players.

If they are already at a top club doing well, why would they leave to join us?

If they are out of work, why are they out of work?

If they are at a lesser club, why?

'Big name' managers who I guess people might want would be:

Pep, Ancelotti, Simeone, Klopp, well guess what, we are not getting any of them.

I hate to say it but I agree with Toor, BR must be conused himself as to what has happend.

Even though i dont rate a few of our players nearly every time we have been beaten i would say on paper our players have been far better than their opposite number - (City & Chelsea being the exception)

As Carragher said we are getting beat by enthusiastic teams not good teams

LFC honest:

Mingolet. very average, offerd zero protection by rodgers defensive system. 2 men on him from corners says it all. Very weak keeper in the air and on sweeping.

Manquillo: Decent player but inexperienced. Offered zero cover from midfield when he does go forward. LFC best current defender which is a huge issue

skertl: terrible. Very nervy, no leadership at all, panicky player who's setting a bad tone

Lovern: woefully poor. needs a steeled line round him allowing him to go attack stuff and be a battering ram.

Johnson: a joke. can;t defend, can;t play forward, can't track back, his only move is to let it go out of play for a throw.

Gerrard: a bottler, won't play his role properly, just taps it round at the back, no leadership, no covering of others.

Allen: very average, nothing more to say about it.

Lallana: Light weight, one pass aside did absolutely nothing in attack nor defense

Coutinho: no stamina, no drive, tried again and again to get on the ball but was so easily muscled off it. no support round him, no passes to make.

Sterling: heads gone, simple as. pressing is half hearted at best, has no idea what to do with it and has lost his positivity to get in behind.

Lambert: meh... scored a goal but other wise not good. tried a bit to close down but had no support.

in short with a team like that the hearts gone and rodgers aint getting it back.
