I think United (under Fergie) would make an offer for Berahino in the summer, not too sure about LVG. To be honest, the standard of the PL has been shocking this season. Wouldn't be suprised if LVG thinks the whole league is pi$$

If I had to guess, looking at how LVG wants to do things and his preference for 433 as a formation. I think we'll be looking at;

GK
RB CB CB LB
CM DM AM
RW CF LW

formation with

De Gea
Rafael Smalling CB? Shaw
CM? Blind Di Maria
RW? Rooney LW?

GK? Jones Evans Carrick Herrera Januzaj v.Persie

Take your pick for who he might go for, but Vlaar, Strootman, Depay and any other Dutch players who fit those positions would be who my moneys on. He's said in the future Januzaj will be a forward in his mind. 433 is the way that will happen.

LVG will go for Depay, probably.

Cool thanks for the replies was interested what people thought and posted the exact same article on another blog and got very similar replies. On Reddit they suggested something similar to how Bayern and Real line up.

Trying to work to LVG's past way of doing things, if we were to add 3 players to the squad in January I think it would look something like;

-----------------DeGea----------------
Rafa. - Smalling - J. Evans - Shaw
------------------Blind-----------------
-------Strootman----DiMaria---------
Depay---------Rooney---------Adnan

Lindegaard Jones Vlaar Carrick Herrera v.Persie Falcao

Amos McNair Blackett Fletcher Valencia Young Wilson

A defender with experience to come in but not necessarily be first choice all the time, but a calm head for the young players to learn off though. A tough and combative midfielder who LVG knows well and is a big fan of is Strootman who we all know will be on the radar, and Memphis Depay, who looks a very very good young player.

So spend snother 50m+ in January then. Really??

there are rumours that Juve are prepared to let Vidal go, so he could be a realistic option.

this may go against the grain but i think bolassi at Palace looks a decent little player and may be worth a punt ( looks a better option than young and valaencia anyway.)

No, it's just an example to demonstrate how LVG will be looking to alter the squad in the next year or so based on what he's done in the past and his preferred way of playing. It's not going to happen in January and I'm not suggesting it is either. But going off of what we know about LVG, that will be the way the team and squad make-up is developed. I'm more inclined to think it will be Strootman or nobody.

Why don't you make a suggestion on how you think LVG will develop the squad...

Ok.

If Falcao doesn't cut it I'd love us to get a striker with real pace, who that is I've no idea.

Done it previously on other articles. First of all get rid of Fellaini out the first team and bring in Herrera. Put rooney and a fit falcao upfront. Di Maria given a free role with Herrera, carrick and fit blind behind.
Wouldn't make any signings in Jan unless a top player does become available which is unlikely.

As for strikers if RVP continues his form for rest of the season get rid and bring in and youthful quick striker. Berahino looks decent. Although personally would go all out for reus next summer

Arsenal have a young lad who's lightning quick, strong as a bull and a great footballer. Reputation for struggling in front of goal but apparently in his first year leading the line for a top side he got 12 goals in 25 league appearances. Could be a great player to have in the side or on the ben...oh wait...

Agreed. We need to start thinking about how we want to play as a team for the foreseeable future, and for me that means possession, pace, high tempo football. However Fellaini has done (which has been ok at best really) I don't think he is the answer if we want to progress as a top team, valuable squad player though.
