It's not bad - it's terribly easy to see why we are struggling.

The goalkeeper.

Get Cech in the Jan window and get some confidence back in the defence.

Mignolet is the dead man walking - look at his haunted face every time he flaps at a cross, fumbles a weak shot, fluffs the simplest clearance and fails to command his penalty area....

.....there's our problem.

Until he swallows his pride and is less stubborn about bringing in a new defensive coach we aren't going to see any improvement at the back.

We can't outscore teams like we did last year, so it's hardly surprising we can't beat anyone. BR must change it and we must improve defensively, otherwise results will continue and he will be out the door.

He even dumped his beautiful wife for a slapper. I blame the slapper she has taken his mind off the job. I even heard that she picks the team sheet.

I watched 'the premier league years 2013/14' this morning - would strongly recommend Liverpool fans avaoid that for a while.

Things are rough at the moment but bottom line:-

We're well within touching distance of top 4.

We're in the last 8 of the league cup.

We're one win away from qualifying for the last 16 in the CL.
--------------------------
This is the mentality that a lot of Utd fans had last season. And instead of getting better it kept on getting worse.

Unfortunately it looks like we're going down the same path. Whilst we're close enough to our targets, its been down to our rivals being poor as well. Our performances bar one haven't been good enough. I just can't even see us getting scrappy wins at the moment, we seem weak in every department.

BR was fantastic for us last season, I hope he turns it around but at the moment I just can't see how its gonna happen. I don't want him gone, but if he carries on this way I think he will be sacked.

Considering most peoples realistic goals this season were top 4, a domestic trophy and to qualify to the knockout stages it's hardly crisis time yet is it. If we go out against Basel, are 10 points off top 4 by xmas and lose to Bournemouth, then I'll re-evaluate. For now though, we're playing really poorly but all it will take is a couple of scrappy wins back-to-back and the season could turn. I'm certainly not going to jump on the BR out bandwagon, and that's exactly what it is. Two months ago those same people had nothing but praise for him.

And it's the right mentality to have. The difference is that BR has done it with us. We had four years of mediocrity before last season. He got us back in the CL two years earlier than any of us thought we would. He has earned some support and faith in his ability to turn around a situation that isn't even that bad yet.

we are in the last 8 of the league cup - probably because you only need to win 1 or 2 games to get there

Jordan Ibe is better than Sterling.

The worrying thing for me at the moment is the team selection. Johnson at LB is really strange, is Moreno shafting his new Mrs?
Lallana can't seem to get a decent run in the team, Gerrard is a passenger. Thought he was ok last night but made some very poor passes at times.
Only real plus point was Sterling, he seemed to be more like himself last night. Once he went off we had no outlet for the pressure. Did he get injured?

Looking at the season like that it must seem to the most optimistic of Liverpool supporters that things are going to plan. But surely you can see that things are not right! You will not win a domestic trophy this year, you may qualify for the last sixteen of the Champion League (def not guaranteed) and by your current form you are not going to be in the top 4.

Yep, he was signalling for about 10 mins that he wanted to come off.

Fair enuf I know he was on the end of a few nasty tackles. Lets hope he's fit for Saturday.

As long as you continue to play Lambert up front you will be fine, the lad has that quality that he can score against anyone

The question isnt are we in the 8 for me it why are we in the last 8 ?

Have we played a lot of games to get there = no
have we played any tough games to get there = no

teams also play second strings in the comp, please lets start patting ourselves on the back for beating Boro on pens and Swansea after a refereeing error
