Here's an interesting video that supports the theory that Luke is going to be evil in The Force Awakens:
https://youtu.be/iMHrOivM5bI
It's quite convincing, have to admit. Also it backs up why we haven't seen any of Luke so far in any of the build up, trailers or poster.

Disagree with you #4za, yes, their surroundings and supporting characters are just as iconic, but saying they were dull?... nah...
the reactions to these 3 characters doesn't suggest dull.
quite the opposite.

Kid, I’ve flown from one side of this galaxy to the other. I’ve seen a lot of strange stuff, but I’ve never seen anything to make me believe there’s a possibility of luke going to the darkside. It’s all a lot of simple tricks and nonsense.
---------------------------------------------
Haha very good.
The thing is the video makes a very compelling case for Luke already being on the path to the dark side in the original trilogy and there are several instances of that.
One of the main ones is when Luke rushes off to Cloud City to try and save Han and Leia and by doing so cuts short his Jedi training.
When he does that Yoda says “If you end your training now — if you choose the quick and easy path as Vader did — you will become an agent of evil.”
So unless Yoda is lying to Luke then by cutting short his training and rushing off Luke "will become an agent of evil".
30 years is a long time to allow someone to slowly turn to the dark side as well.
Either way watch the vid as it gives a good argument to show not only that Luke will have turned to the dark side in the new movie but also that the beginning of his turning to the dark side was already apparent in both Empire and Jedi.
Luke the master and kylo ren one of his nephews?
It would be a very surprising thing to turn Luke to the dark side, but I expect Disney to have at least one major shock in store for us

Another thing I'd like to add is that since the original trilogy Mark Hamill has done the voice of the Joker and done a very good job of it thus showing that he can play the bad guy very well indeed.
If Luke has gone fully dark side in this movie then I suspect Hamill will be brilliant at playing it.

Thing is if Luke has gone to the Dark side who is teaching him?
You cant just go dark and master that side you have to be taught like Jedi are.

Very suprising yes, but brilliant also and with Luke on the dark side it makes the situation all the more perilous and difficlut for the likes of Finn and Rey.

that quote from Yoda above is very compellng
but did Lucas have more story written after Return of Jedi?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Apparently so, watch the vid though it goes into a fair bit of detail on how George Lucas's original plans for Empire and Jedi were quite different and not as fairytale-like, especially the ending.
Just cant see how they can do it.
Ever since Darth Bane there has always been the master who passes on knowledge of the dark side to an apprentice, until the apprentice is powerful enough to kill his master and take on their own apprentice.
Is Sideous really dead, he was trying to get the Kamino scientists to make him immortal by stopping the ageing process, what if he gave us and just cloned himself and came back as a force ghost (nothing to say the sith cant do this)
There are of course holes in the theory that Luke has gone to the dark side. One of them being that if the force "awakens" in this movie then obviously it's been very dormant for a long time. So if Luke has gone to the dark side why has he not been using the force ?
Or is the title of the movie alluding to the force from a Jedi perspective ? In that case the force has been dormant from a Jedi perspective.
Also if Luke is a Sith Lord now then why is he not teaching others to become Sith and how do the Knight of Ren tie in to all this?
Just cant see how they can do it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
WW there are probably numerous ways that they could do this.
For a start how do we know that there aren't other Sith Lords out there who would have been able to train Luke at some point in the 30 years since we last saw him ? The Galaxy is a big place.
As for Sideous is he definitely dead ? We didn't see a body at the end of Jedi did we. Also if he did die then he might be able to come back as a force ghost and influence Luke and mess with his mind that way.
The sith all bar Darth Bane were killed in a final battle with the Jedi.
However, I suppose Disney can rip up all the books and whats gone before.
My money is still on Sideous, I mean he was all powerful and Vader just picked him up and threw him down a shaft, anyone that powerful would have been able to slow his fall or stop Vader in the 1st place
Ww you are making the assumption that Vader didnt have an apprentice, and by all accounts that stuff (bane) is still canon (pre ep1 i think i heard). There are also many ways any force sensitive person could have found some sith relics like Vader helmets, the cave in dagaba or even potentially the space where the 2nd deathstar was destroyed
