Definitely, just use him in the cup games and Europa League

I think he should play on the left, hes left footed in he, n we needed width. Then again hes not that fast, id of played one holding not 2 against Palace at home

I didn't mind Lennon not starting so much, or Lamela starting for that matter. It's the fact the Lennon didn't come on a lot earlier than he did.

Problem is playing him on the right and this inverted wide player shart, Poch makes the same mistakes over and over again

Bolaise for Palace played like I expect Lamela to play each game...and then some.

He has not improved a great amount since we first got him. Like, Soldado and Paulinho, he's unlikely to improve anymore while at Spurs, and recoup what we paid.

He's simply an average player worth about £5m

To think people rate him higher than Townsend

The biggest problem with Lamela is that we can't play Asteras every week.

Not just slow physically, but slow mentally apparently, else he'd have realised by now he won't have 5 minutes on the ball whenever he's on it.

And then he'd end up playing like Lamela does Chronic.

I haven't seen much of him. I somehow how doubt he's the kind of player who plays like that week in week out, otherwise he'd be on everyone's lips.

Thing is though this is his first proper season really.. looks a long way from his Roma form though.

I'm still waiting to see signs he's maturing but I'm yet to see it. Wants to spend too long on the ball and never seems to run off-the-ball which is surely how an inside forward gets his goals? Heard he prefers to be the number 10 but he's too slow on the ball to be that. Starting to lose my patience with him....

Lamela is painfully slow, I am myself losing patience with him. He needs far too much time on the ball. He keeps losing possession.

What is he being coached though?

Surely he is being advised that urgency, speed of action and thought etc is vital in the PL.

I suppose he has still really only had half a season to adjust, some can take a season or more. I remember when many used to say Bale was rubbish, a jinx etc, and looked what happened there.

Bale was absolutely class when he first appeared for us then got injured, people forgot that.

That's right Sherwood...he made an impact right away.....scored vs g00ns....!?


Anywho......lamela needs to hit the weights.....and be told to move the ball quicker.....
