Can't imagine the fringe players are too happy not being given more of a chance considering how poor a season you've had so far
I think it's more simple than that. I just feel BR has reverted to the players of last season. Sakho has just come back from injury at a time when Skrtel and Toure were doing well and Johnson has been playing well recently also. Enrique probably preferred due to his experience over Moreno who has made a couple of costed mistakes which were due to inexperience. The one I don't get is Borini.
Perhaps it's a question of thinking the more seasoned players are the ones more capable of dealing with the pressure you're under right now.
It would be interesting to know too what sort of pressure BR himself feels he's under. Do you reckon he'll get the axe at the end of the season if you don't win a trophy or make the CL? That might also be a factor holding him back from giving the youngsters more of a run in the side.
You believe Skrtel and Johnson have been "doing/playing well"? Really?
Can't see BR getting sacked this season whatever happens. One bad season doesn't make you a bad manager no more than one good season makes you a good one. The only problem I might see is will the board trust him with their money again. His recent signings have either been poor or haven't been given enough time to show what they can do.
Do Liverpool have a director of football? Someone who picks transfer targets or is it all Rodgers?
Johnson and Skrtel have played well enough the past 5 unbeaten games in my opinion.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Indeed they have. Goals conceded has drastically reduced and Johnson has also improved the attacking side of his game which has been missing for a while.
In fact many of the side have drastically improved but we have a major issue and that's scoring goals, getting behind defences and creating space. That's why I'm a little confused why Borini isn't preferred for some games Lambert isn't suited for.
I think the main reason we are losing less games is easily down to the introduction of both Lucas and Toure. Lucas has been our standout player in breaking teams down, while Toure had brought leadership and organization to the backline.
Skrtel once again looked like a headless chicken the other night, but then again he had Lovren as partner. Johnson once again was giving the ball away with ease. It was no wonder Basel's goal came from their side.
Manquillo and Moreno did nothing wrong to lose their place in the side, while Sakho has proved at international level and for PSG that he deserves a chance, when both Lovren and Skrtel have been dire to say the least.
Dunno about drastically improved.
We have been better in the last 5 games than the previous 5, but that isn't saying much.
The performance of the team and individuals against Basle was pathetic for the most part.
BR is going with experience because he is in a bad spell and he knows his job is under threat because of results.
Results have improved a bit as a result, but right now we look more likely to go backwards again than make the leap forwards that we need to transform a dismal season.
Should he be going with experience however?
In my opinion it was the likes of Flanagan, Henderson, Coutinho, Sterling and Sturridge who showed last year that determination, creativity and a will to win beats experience every time.
He should be going for his 'best' team, and not his most 'experienced' team!
Skrtel was our best defender against Basel. Lovren was actually quite lucky not to get a red when he should have got a 2nd yellow and again throughout the game was dodgy as fek. If Sakho is fit and Kolo is still out then without hesitation he should play ahead of Lovren.
I agree Kash, however Skrtel was the best of a bad bunch. It says a lot about our 'experienced' players when the introduction of two of our fringe players from last season in Toure and Lucas has helped us go five games unbeaten.
It's definitely time for the likes of Moreno, Sakho, Can, Markovic and Borini to get their chance.
Isn't ballo back for the weekend for you guys?
Apparently and I wouldn't mind him starting. I thougt he was showing signs of improvement before his injury.
We are going to facing off at anfield next week once again with more than half of our squad injured
Half our squad is gash so it should be quite even.
7 points out of 9 in the league is an improvement, but the performance level remains poor.
The strange choices the manager made in our biggest game of the season on Tuesday were as shambolic as the teams performance.
The likes of Sahko (if fit), Can, Markovic and even bloody Borini have a case to be made to be included in the match day squad on Sunday, given our sterile attack against Sunderland and the woefully inept performance level against Basel.
So Lallana breaks a couple of ribs so that's the reason why he didn't play on Tuesday. That begs the question as to why he was sat on the bench? Why not put Borini on the bench or even Sinclair as someone suggested the other day. Another baffling decision from the management.

I didn't even realise Borini wasn't on the bench, very strange when Lambert had played so many games and had done a lot of running.

The Redundant Cockwomble,
Would you please continue your great work and create an article about how you expect Liverpool to get crushed on Sunday.
You are always wrong, which will help us feel a little more confident.
You can then as usual edit the article after the match in an attempt to downplay the fact that you are such a throbbing weapon.
Thanks in advance
