But you've just come up with the £40m figure. Real Madrid will sell to the highest bidder. That's very, very unlikely to be Spurs as you don't have the finances to compete with the big boys.

And??? Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs in England and were one of the most successful clubs in world football years ago. I highly doubt any of the real top players would even look the way of Liverpool right now. Just because united are a huge club Dosent mean they have the gods given right or guaranteed to get a player of bales caliber. If bale comes back to England ever which he won't then it will be back to spurs. He even said on one of his interviews recently that he wouldn't rule out ever returning to spurs and that he never would of player for any other English club.
-----------------------------------------------

Comparing Man U to Liverpool is silly. Might as well compare trophyless, struggling Barca with Liverpool. Man U are the wealthiest, most valuable, most supported club in world football and their brand name and wealth is enough to command the attention of ANY player - with the probable exception of a Messi or Ronaldo. Oh, and except Bale is on the verge of winding down his long career in his 30's, there is absolutely ZERO chance he would go to Spurs. Fabregas said he would come back to Arsenal and said he'd never play for another English side. He's not in Arsenal now, is he?

Don, I think you are deluding yourself somewhat. Spurs aren't a poor club but they aren't a super rich club either.

Maybe Bale would force a move to Spurs. But I think that's romanticism rather than him making the obvious career choice of a top club in England if he happens to come back to England.

Sherrif, bale would choose spurs over any club in England if in the future he decided he wanted to come back. That's a fact and your " zero chance" prediction won't change that

But as I said before, if he stays at Madrid for another couple of years and only had one year left on his contract - then having first option to buy him for say £40m would be viable
-----------------------------------------

Why would you assume Madrid would sell at less than half what they bought him, and how do you assume you signed a first option deal. I highly doubt you were in a position to make those demands after he was sold for £85m.

King, there is nothing deluded in me speaking the truth. We have a billionaire owner that could pay any money for any player if he wanted to. The amount of money we have made in profit in recent years is astounding. By the way I'm not saying bale will come back. I'm saying if he ever did then we could afford him if we wanted and he would jump at the chance to come back over any English club

No, he wouldn't. It's just self-flattery, but well unrealistic. He didn't grow up a Spurs fan and you wouldn't be able to afford him or compete at the level he demands. You have ZERO chance. Absolute zero. If a move were imminent, I could bet all I have that he wouldn't move to Spurs. Could you?

But you are deluding yourself. The fact you are a Europa League side who operate on a Europa League side budget shows you aren't one of the super rich.

Joe Lewis is an irrelevance. He HASN'T paid any money for any player he wanted as it's not his business model.

It's not a model that is going to change. Especially as the PL and UEFA ffp rules stop owners being able to do that now.

I'm also not convinced that he'd jump at the chance to go to Spurs when he'd have the choice of all the top clubs in England.

Time will tell, I guess. But I think the likelihood of Bale ever playing for Spurs again are very slim.

He could. He wouldn't. He's not an Arab sheikh or Russian oligarch with infinite liquid cash to burn. Neither does he seem as interested in football as those Arabs or Russians. He's a cheap skate hiding in a tax haven and Spurs only use to him is when he can sell you off for a massive profit. He has zero interest in becoming a sugar daddy. You should know how your own owner operates.

Sherrif, I'm not being funny but I'm hardly going to listen to an opinion of an arsenal fan that comes on every spurs article trying to belittle our club. Bale was interviewed about a month ago saying how he would never rule out a move back to spurs in the future and that he wouldn't of moved to any English club. I couldn't give a fu ck about fabregas as they are 2 different people. I will choose to believe words from the horses mouth rather than a guy spouting c rap on ja606

Exactly. Arsenal's owner is also a billionire, but he takes money from the club and we're just an investment he wants to eventually sell for a massive profit. We don'tdelude ourselves that he will put his money into the club. We can only spend money from our own profits. Same as Spurs.

The king, you would say that because you would be desperate for bale to go to united. Bale rejected you guys the 1st time when he was younger for us. He developed his game under spurs and built a superb relationship with the spurs fans. He's a guy with principles and I highly doubt he would want to ruin that. He has his wish and dream currently playing for the biggest club side in world football. United would do nothing for him that he already has and he wouldn't need to move to you. If in the later future he ever comes back I am confident it will be back to us.

I'm not desperate for Bale to move to United in the slightest.

I'm saying it because Spurs are not a super rich club who can afford Bale and offer him the footballing and financial incentives the other top clubs in England can.

You've got an emotional attachment to Bale, I get that, but emotional attachment isn't always enough, as shown by him leaving you.

It's not about what us, City or Chelsea can offer him that Madrid can't. It's about what us, City and Chelsea can offer him, and Madrid, that Spurs can't.

Such a naive, deluded comment. I'm certain I heard the same about quiet little Modric - right before he threw a tantrum when his Chelsea move was blocked. I'm certain I heard the same about Bale, who threatened a strike when his Madrid move was getting delayed. You know nothing about Bale's principles. You just know him as a footballer.
