What has Mourinho built?
The man lives off gifts.
Let's see him win the league with Smalling, Jones, Cleverley, Fletcher, Young and Valencia playing every game like Fergie did in his final year.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Not Jose's fault Fergie bought that pile of s t fo a lot of money
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As opposed to Schevchenko, Bulharouz, Kezman et al, right?
The best thing Jose has done is take Porto on to win the CL. That was a fantastic achievement as was his inter treble. Other than that everything else he has done is hardly special
Mourinhos CL triumph with Porto was his greatest achievement IMO. Yes he had a great team but at the time most the players were unheard of, Carvalho, Deco Ferreria etc.

Win the PL with record points total isn't special? For one it took some doing beating Arsenal to that title especially after the invinceables, incredible title to boast.

I pressume you're either taking the pi$$ or else incredibly stupid. Chelsea finished the previous season as runners up and had already assembled a team of multi million pound players (over £120m)
Are you seriously suggesting this was a team of no hopers that Jose built?
Fergie may have spent, but half a dozen of his youth team from 92 were in the side that won the Treble. Sorry, but you cannot compare Forest to Porto, who had won a previous European Cup. Forest won 2 European Cups 2-3 years after being promoted.

People also seem to forget fergies achievements with Aberdeen. Winning numerous trophies including beating Real Madrid in a European final.
No. I'm just challenging the assertion that he hasn't build a team.
Every team, barring the Class of 92' has had to be bought in some way... Just because the amounts are higher, it's pretty much irrelevant.
Depends what you mean by building a team to be honest. He's buying players that will undoubtedly improve the quality of the team and will do for the next few years...
I specifically left out the part about taking no hopers and turning them around, because that isn't what he's doing.

União de Leiria
Mourinho found a new managerial post in July 2001 with União de Leiria.[27] During his time at União de Leiria, the team was on a run contesting places as high as third and fourth by January. After a 2–1 win against Paços de Ferreira on 27 January, the team was in third place, one point ahead of both Porto and Benfica and three points behind the top of the league table. Mourinho's successes at Leiria did not go unrecognised and he caught the attention of larger Portuguese clubs.[19]
Porto
He was then hand-picked in late January 2002 by FC Porto to replace Octávio Machado. At this time, Porto was in fifth place in the Liga (behind Sporting, Boavista, Leiria and Benfica), had been eliminated from the Portuguese Cup and was in last place in their Champions League second stage group. Mourinho guided the team to third place that year after a strong 15-game run (W–D–L: 11–2–2) and gave the promise of "making Porto champions next year."
He quickly identified several key players whom he saw as the backbone of what he believed would be a perfect Porto team: Vítor Baía, Ricardo Carvalho, Costinha, Deco, Dmitri Alenichev, and Hélder Postiga. He recalled captain Jorge Costa after a six-month loan to Charlton Athletic. The signings from other clubs included Nuno Valente and Derlei from União de Leiria; Paulo Ferreira from Vitória de Setúbal; Pedro Emanuel from Boavista; and Edgaras Jankauskas and Maniche, who both had been out of contract at Benfica.
2002–03
During the pre-season, Mourinho put detailed reports of the team training on the club website. The reports were filled with formal vocabulary, as, for instance, he referred to a 20 km jog as an extended aerobic exercise. While they attracted some scorn for the pretentiousness, others praised the innovation and the application of a more scientific approach to the training methods practised in Portugal. One of the key aspects in Mourinho-era Porto was his quick wit and the pressuring play, which started at the offensive line, dubbed pressão alta ("high pressure". The physical and combative abilities of the teams' defenders and midfielders allowed Porto to apply pressure from the offensive lines and forced opponents either to concede the ball or try longer, uncertain passes.
In 2003, Mourinho won his first Primeira Liga with a 27–5–2 record, 11 points clear of Benfica, the team he quit two years earlier. The total of 86 points out of the possible maximum of 102 was a Portuguese record since the rule of three points per win was introduced. Mourinho also won the Taça de Portugal, beating former club Leiria in the final, and the UEFA Cup final against Celtic, both in May 2003.
Jose will win trophies wherever he goes. That’s a guarantee. But since he left Porto he's hardly been managing clubs on a shoestring budget but I've no problem with that. Some managers can convert players bought on the cheap or youth players into very good players and have sucess. Jose is not one of those managers. He needs great players around him and great players cost money.
I noticed Porto were in the Champions League when he took over. How is that comparable to Clough at Forest ?

Its not all about points totals or how many trophies you win.
After Munich, Utd were decimated, losing the majority of what many deem to be one of the greatest english sides ever.
This was in the days where you didnt just go out and buy a shít load of world class players for vast amounts, and for him to go on and win 2 league titles, 1 fa cup and the european cup within 10 years is nothing short of remarkable.
After Munich Busby just didnt build a team, he brought an entire club from its knees and turned it into the european champions.
