The worst thing about this result is that it doesn't feel like a shock but instead like something that is to be expected. I can't even muster the energy to be angry about this, just miserable.

I fail to see how Pod couldnt have done a better job for us here but because of Wengers snubbing him he storms out of training saying hes injured.

wenger shouldnt have told szcez to let those goals in
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wenger should have replaced that twit years ago.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
well that's the choice of the manager, he doesn't have to play scezeny, he could just let him go but he wouldn't do that...

You can't blame Wenger for Koscielny, Debuchy, and Wojiech all having mares today, or for Giroud idiotically getting a red. This isn't an excuse for what Wenger should have done, but this result isn't his fault completely.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wenger is the one who bought all those players so the buck ultimately stops with him. Besides, everybody and their cats and dogs told Wenger to buy a DM and CB but he refused.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We are talking of this game not of the mistake Wenger made in the last summer.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Today's mistakes are nothing new. Per Met has been this awful all season. And why judge a manager on a game by game basis? Today you hate him, tomorrow he is a hero. If Wenger had made the right decisions last summer this circus wouldn't be happening.

Look Wenger is given the plaudits when he has done well and he has to take the blame for this fiasco.

Chesney lost complete confidence a season ago and wenger used fabianski because he knew Chesney was not up to it.

So why didn't Wenger replace him in the summer instead of buying a backup in Ospina.
-------------------------------------------------------------
I agree - I think you mean to direct this at Godfather
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ospina wouldn't be just a backup if he were fit. Can you honestly look at the squad after Welbeck was bought, and outside of defense and a defensive mid, have said that there wasn't depth all around? No one expected the midfield, where there were too many players, to be decimated by injuries.

Only good thing is that united and pool dropped points and so will Chelsea/Spurs.

first win for Southampton over arsenal for 12 years.

Wenger is coming to an end. I hope he doesn't destroy his legacy and quietly goes upstairs.

Southampton are very very lucky they were playing against an Arsenal reserve team. We would have battered them if we had everyone fit.

but we never have everyone fit. Never.

Most realistic fans said before the game that this will be a struggle

We had out for me our worst match day squad for the season today and we never historically play that well at Southampton

Add the fact that most managers knowadays know how to out tactic Wenger

Well done Szczęsny.

A full strength Chelsea only got a draw here a few days ago. We have simply been hit too hard by injuries today. That being said could have got a brilliant point if not for professional footballers making worse mistakes than a Sunday league player. The keeper should be dropped

First choice keeper and back four. Chamberlain, Sanchez and Cazorla all first team regulars.
