Never a top, top player. Ask SAF.
I don't expect United fans to give him a great send off. I'm sure Liverpool will have something special planned for him at his last Anfield match, as he deserves for all he's contributed to the football club
I was only a kid when kenny and rush, were destroying Europe and I have nothing but respect for king kenny as he attended in person a lot of funerals and will always be number one.
Purely based on football ability and effort he will go down as my best player, when we've had a decent team he still has been out best player, and when we had the dark days under hodson, he never complained he just gave his all.
Great captain and leader and one of the prems best, good luck to him!
I hope we drop the rivalry and applaud him after our next match afters
-
I have huge admiration for his ability as a player, but as a ST holder I can tell you now this will not happen.
Great servant for Liverpool but I cound not bring myself to give him a hero's send off.
I would stand and applaud Stevie G, wouldn't give a flyin fark about other United Supporters nearby who would give me a rash, the man deserves it ffs, at the end of the day without Liverpool, WE'RE not the same club. We have a dysfunctional love/hate relationship that has benefited both ot our clubs, and to be honest, I'd rather share a pint with a Scouser than a Londoner (sorry Mr.C). Won't be the same without Cara and now Gerrard gone, are clubs are losing our identity with so many foreign players, rather than local boys that are one-club players.
Applaud him? For what?
I hope he slips on his arśe in our last game so we can laugh at him some more.
Only tribute befitting to him from United should be a specially made DVD of people like Bebe and Luke Chadwick kissing the premier league while he kisses cameras.
It may be too much to expect Man U fans to applaud SG, but some good hearted banterous chants wouldn't be bad.
Even SG wouldn't mind being the pantomime villain on this occasion to get some booing from the Man U crowd.
Hope he gets to kiss the TV Cameras again.
Praising him here is about as far as I could go I'm afraid. For me the rivalry is such that I could not do it.
If that makes me petty so be it but in a perverse way Gerrard would get more out of being abused by United fans IMO.

That's spot on 77, applause won't come easy, but Stevie would get the value of us singing him off, no matter how foul we get, Cleverson, you may need to grow up a bit my son, that sounds like a comment a teenager would make. Respect one-club players, they all deserve a level of respect.

Shut up! I'm a United fan and he plays for our rivals. You want to lick his arris you carry on.
As the point was made earlier, would they have done the same for Neville? No.

as I said when some of you wee lads grow up you'll understand. Remember, I'm United First and above all. Nev hated Scousers for breakfast, he loved every minute of the stick he got. You'll understand some day. Not trying to beat up you lads.
i can understand the bitterness from some mancs
Nah. Hope he gets sidelined with a minor àrse-slip injury for the rest of the season.

Apparently we are supposed kiss the arris of a runt who played for our rivals and supported a player as captain who racially abused our player, antagonised our fans.

Are you 12? You always make posts that scream pay attention to me.
I'd be shocked if he gets an applause at Old Trafford, just doesn't happen with rivals.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Shut up titty. Do u want me to kiss slippys arris like the OP?
What players have Liverpool done this for from other sides?
I suppose there is a point in respecting good players in the game we love but the rivalry between the two clubs means it won't happen.
As a United fan much easier to hold Zola etc in high regard.
I will always remember the time Alan Smith broke and dislocated his leg and ankle and the scousers blocked the Ambulance in.
The time suarez racially abused our player and they wore t-shirts in full support of him (including their captain)
yet you want us to applaud him.
No fecking way. Hope he slips on his árse on the last game of the season costing his team again, then at the end of the game Giggsy comes running into the stadium with his 13 winners medals round his neck helps him up then stuffs a camera right in his face then he pops back to Stevies house to give Alex a good seeing to
