All that proves is that you've got a huge squad, ours has been restricted due io FFP.
................
Our squad is very small, we had a huge clear out in August then due to massive injury list we had to use players from academy or be it some of them played in capital one cup game.

Old probably more then the 15 now.

Remember the Welbeck storm This is the year for academy players although LVG is stopping using them now our players have come back.

So you don't think Phil Baresi and Franz Smalling are up to the job?

Phil Jones is the worst footballer I have seen, constantly punts the ball up field, hasn't grasped the concept of crossing and as shown yesterday he got into a great position but took a heavy touch out of play 1st half when Southampton defence was not set.

Smalling is decent header of the ball. I honestly don't know how Phil Jones is at Man utd he is that bad but then again shocking players play for England.

He went to City because of money, everyone knows United only pay minimum wage.

posted on 12/1/15

To be fair Man utd are now a mess who desperatedly need CL money, good job Moyes reached the QF last season in CL as we would be going down under otherwise. I find it funny since SAF retired we spent huge and gone shocking. We have the desire that was missing under Moyes when behind but we don't have the quality like we had under SAF.

We did lay siege on Southampton last 15 minutes and built up a head of steam reminisence of the old days. I still think if we scrape 3rd and win fa cup it would be a hugely successful season.

posted on 12/1/15

I didn't see much desire yesterday after you went behind, it was like every player was assuming someone else was going to grab a late equalizer or even winner.

I didn't see any of your game yesterday but I'm glad I wasnt a betting man and put 50p on United winning the title this year like, it seemed, everyone and their dog was saying when you were on your flukey unbeaten run.

That would be a miracle of biblical proportions and LVG would immediately be installed as Pope, Aga Khan, Dalai Lama and Cheif Rabbi of Europe.

Gong back to the OP: when DiMaria went to United on the back of a mid table finish with no champions league, no hope, and a fat salary rise; isn't that the previous definition of "merc" that was flippantly bandied around to the likes of Yaya and co.?
Where's the DiMaria merc label?

posted on 12/1/15

United are an established world force, therefore you can't blame good players for wanting to join. Joining a shítty little club for money, is mercenary

So you've gone full Scouse?

posted on 12/1/15

You paid more for Di Maria than we did for all our GK's, FB's and CB's combined.

To put it another way, you could have bought Silva, Toure, Kompany and still have had enough left to buy a fish supper.

"Angel, what first attracted you to United with their fabulous wage structure?"

What?

di Maria joined one of the biggest clubs in the world, one season out of the CL isn't going to change that.

Yaya however, joined a mid-table team, who had never even been in the Champions League. I bet he hadn't even heard of City, before you quadrupled his wages.

Maybe he (like Robinho) thought he was signing for someone else?

posted on 12/1/15

Maybe Yaya knew he'd be Afican POTY every season if he joined City and decided it was a better prospect than sitting on the Barca bench.

Thanks Robby for that pile of c r a p response (I expect the emoticon was an attempt to make it a tongue in cheek comment).

Perhaps MancWoohoo meant to mention all 4 Utd mercenaries who joined you in the summer:

Di Maria (Real Madrid)
Ander Herrera (Athletico Bilbao)
Falcao (Monaco)
Daley Blind (Ajax)

All of whom joined from clubs qualified for CL football this season for a non-CL football club paying astounding wages.

Not mercenaries though, probably for the love of the club they supported when they were kids (oh, and the history)!

Some say that he could have stayed with the biggest club in the world WITH CL football. Instead he went to last year's mid table club on the back of a big fat pay rise. I guess not everyone's definition of a merc is the same.

Di Maria thought he was joining the Champions, Zabaleta and Aguero played a cruel trick on him.

Rotten bástards.
