Take away the freakishly expensive Bale transfer and we are at a spend of 55m.

How on earth do you know Levy is doing nothing. Apart from the Bony transfer its been pretty quiet all round. We have a fairly large squad already and the window doesn't close till the 2/2.

Agree, entirely.

We're doing pretty well. I get the feeling Poch was tasked with getting the most out of the current players (including lamela / soldado / chadli etc.) and bringing in some youth before any more big signings.

Chronic and Co will be all over this article like a rash giving you dogs abuse but I completely agree. I have had this feeling towards levy for years now and if you speak up against him you are told " you ain't got a clue how things work"

Who are the targets then?

Who should Levy be going for?

Virtually every big money signing we make turns out badly, so its no exact science. Rebrov, Bent, Bentley, Lamela, Soldado.

It is actually the middle range signings that have served us best over the years.

Zero net spend and when the new stadium is built the club will be sold for c.£1bn, I wonder who the big winners will be
----------------------------------------------------------------------

So long as the club isn't saddled with more debt than the stadium cost to build in the sale. Why does it matter about the sale price? The club has got a shiny new stadium and some of the best training facilities in the world.

Yeah, we'd be in a terrible state wouldn't we.

Then you have to take away the players that were bought with the money - or do you think we'd have spent all that dosh without cashing in on Bale?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

My point was Levy backed the manager to the tune off 100m. So all this net spend talk is rubbish. We've bought players. Traditionally not in January at inflated prices. Who do we buy and how do you know deals aren't going on?

Let's spend loads of money on players and struggle to fund our stadium when it's eventually built. This sounds like a great idea.

How the fack do you know Pochetinno & Levy aren't trying hard to strengthen the squad?

The fact that we've only spent about £2m in Jan transfer windows since 2009, would lead one to believe Levy isn't trying his hardest.

Our net spend is low. It has to be as we don't turn a profit, despite people seemingly believing Levy trousers 10s of millions.

More spent on fees means less spent on wages.

Alternatively we spend on both but don't bother attempting to buy all of the property around WHL, attempt to build a new ground, or build the brilliant training facility that is helping us attract and develop players.

Is it Levy's fault he gets top dollar for players when we do have to sell them? Should we have sold Bale for 40m, so we could have a net spend of 40m last Summer and everyone could feel happy?

Or maybe we should have bought ten players? Maybe even fifteen. Broke our transfer record six times, not three?

we have to build a new stadium which will give us increased spending, top priority ,surely people realise that the next few seasons are going to be consolidation

____

Ryan Shawcross [make him captain immediately]

Another forward - doesn't matter who as long they are at least average. Both Soldado and Adebayor are equally useless. It is simply impossible that Kane can maintain this purple patch for the rest of the season. Berhinho - Chamberlain - I don't especially care.

A new LB - a manequin would be better than what we have now.

CM - Schinderlain is availble and Poch want him.

We have the resources to get ALL of these players. Levy just has to front the finances.

How much money would you bring in for getting CL and winning the various cup competitions? I know it's no guarantee that buying players will bring you those, but I wonder what would outweigh what: money from CL etc. or money spent on players to try and get those.
