Who was that manager who kept moaning about our spending after (and before) our meetings with Bolton?

posted on 1/2/15

Freedman sounded like a broken man after his last game are Bolton. He refused to accept responsibility for the mess we were in and blamed the players..the same ones who are now saying out of their skin for Lennon.
A bizarre appointment..!

Malky, players respond to different management and coaching styles so it's never a simple case of players should be able to perform under any Tom, d:ck or Harry.

A manager can only perform with the players available to him and with how his tactics fit in with personnel available. Plenty of managers have been good at one club and then poor at another.

Crazy appointment. No credentials whatsoever. Regarding the players the lack of physical conditioning was apparent yesterday. Unable to close the opposition down which resulted in a lack of tempo. Be interesting what McGovern has to say about it. Also Fawaz offering Pearce a consultation role, presumably he wasn't consulted about Freedman.

For what it's worth dougie came in when we were really struggling & laid the foundations for our promotion. I wish him well #cpfc #nffc

His end to Bolton went bad but he did turn them from relgation to near playoffs at the start.

Also his time with Palace went well as shown above.

He is relatively young and has some experience at this level. Surely he can do a decent job with what we have if he can give them a kick up the backside?

Have to agree with you there Mani

For a while I have been saying that SP should only be sacked if Fawaz had someone better lined up to take over.

I think that is just what he has done.

No doubt there are some posters on here who are not prepared to give him a chance - that is their prerogative I don't mind them doing that. I do object to them calling themselves Forest Fans. There will even be some who go to matches just waiting for an opportunity to have a go at the new manager.

Nobody will ever get the backing from the fans that Stuart Pearce got, but hopefully they will give him a fair crack of the whip.

Good Luck Dougie Freedman

I think everyone will give him a chance Red50 but I think a lot of us need convincing. I personally think the players will start to cop it big time. Freedman will need to make an immediate impact which I can't see happening.

Surely no-one would want him to fail? Got to back the guy whatever, whether he's the right man for certain fans to want stability...doubtful

posted on 1/2/15

What do they want then?

MON is never going to happen so the question is what is better out there at this moment in time?

posted on 1/2/15

I'll give him a chance. But Fawaz has had his chance now. Needs to go. The guy's a feckin idiot of the highest order.

Adkins and McDermot would both have been better options. Even bloody Colin W@#k3r would have been a more sensible choice. This feels a bit like the MCLeish appointment to me. Ill thought and short lived.

Well the split has happened I see.

Only one thing for it!

So you judge Freedman on his time at Bolton but forget about adkins time at reading or McDermott at Leeds?

posted on 1/2/15

How do you get rid of a chairman though SHH? He is a fool but he does have good intentions.

posted on 1/2/15

This is what i dont get about Forest fans and them now saying they want Fawaz out.

Chairman don't grow on trees and he is a pretty decent one at that.

Look at Leeds!!!!

posted on 1/2/15

Yes I do SBd. Adkins had 3 years of success at Saints and one poor season with Reading where he was constrained by finances. No one can blame McDermot for what happened at Leeds. Freedman had a small amount of success with Palace, a bit like Keane at Sunderland. He was diabolical at Bolton.

Anyway, he's our manager now so I will obviously support him and hope he does well. Everyone deserves a chance.

He took Bolton from relegation to near the playoffs. Remember the run they went on where they won a ridiculous amount of games in a row when he took over?

Plus he did the same with Palace and that is the reason they are in the PL now even the Palace fans say the same thing.

Adkins and McDermott are not that much different.

SBD, you are clueless mate. How is Fawaz a good chairman? He's a disaster. We're in an embargo. We've had 740 managers this week. We've gone downhill since he arrived. When managers have been doing well he's sacked them. He sold players behind a manager's back. He just brought in a new manager on deadline day, ffs. Well intentioned, yes. A decent bloke, yes. Good at running a football club, 100% no. It's embarrassing.

posted on 1/2/15

Yes and then it went seriously down hill. A bit like Pearce's reign with us!

Have a look at Adkins and McDermot's record because clearly you don't know much about them.

Palace are not in the Prem because of Freedman! Remember Tony Pulis?!!

posted on 1/2/15

Oh dear CFF you have shot yourself in the foot. Freedman is the one who got Palace promoted intially. He laid the foundations and left in the November when Holloway then took over and got them promoted but they were near the top then.

Adkins has only been successful with one club (yes he did very well to be fair) but was dire at reading. Also McDermott did a similar thing with Reading and then leeds.

So why judge a guy and say to pretty much sack him already when he hasn't even started yet!?

posted on 1/2/15

Have you watched any of his teams? Or his interviews? The guy comes across as clueless. You're talking as if people are just pulling concerns out of nowhere - we're not. We're basing it in things we've seen with our eyes.

Your the only one who I've seen on this board who has hit the nail on the head 👍 It's bizarre to think he's doing well for your club, it beggers belief.

The guy, and his partners in crime who take to 'twitter' giving out abuse and private information, are a laughing stock and that's why they have turned your club into. It's FACT.

Look, you may not like what I'm saying cos I'm a Ram, but I'm genuinely giving out correct information. You can all come back and say 'jeff off' and 'why are you bothered'...I'm not. I'm just stating the facts. Just read what hooijdonk has wrote again ^^ he's spot on.

Under him, you've gone backwards. That's the top and bottom of it. He's totally unprofessional in everything he does. Is there any other owner out there who takes to twitter to give out information? Seriously now? It's amateur at best. Obviously he's gone behind your 'legends' back by appointing this guy, straight away. Pre planned. Another 'amateur' move.
Lastly, and this you can take however you like. My old man works for the Royal Mail. Your club, owner, etc failed to stump up £2,500 to the Royal Mail in which they declined to carry on doing business with your club until it was paid. That is gospel. Little as it may sound, and you probably couldn't care less, it's startling to hear.

Wake up and smell the coffee. He's running your club into the mire.

You are so right. The list of mistakes grows ever longer but it is okay because he does it all with the best of intentions. He doesn't seem to be learning and that is the biggest worry. He is he reason the club are under an embargo because of his vanity signings, Abdoun and Djebbour particularly. He isn't fit to run the club whether he is a super fan or not. There is no plan, can't you see?!? Forest need a clean break and to dust themselves off. There are plenty of people who would be willing to invest in a club at this level who would have better business acumen and who would get a proper structure in place at the club.
