BID REJECTED!!!!!

Easy to see why he is worth £15m plus.

He is integral to Bolton, for a start, and they get to determine his value based on getting a replacement with 5 days left in the market as good as him. They will also want to be seen as making a profit on him.

Then you have to consider the fact that he is better than all of Arsenal's defenders other than Vermaelen. Arsenal just got a combined total of 60m for Nasri and Cesc, they need a midfielder, winger, striker, but most importantly a defender. Arsenal's need and recent cash influx entitles bwfc to push up the price.

He is also english and homegrown, thats a premium.

Also take into account that he is still young and not near his peak. He is technically gifted, very clever in defence and potentially world class player who could be integral to a big six team in the PL.

Easily worth £15m

iV wILsHeRE iV (U9880) - Have you actually ever seen Cahill play?

He has Spurs DNA so hands off him GOONZ!!!!

Arsenal conceded more set piece goals than any other team, Cahill won more headers than any other player. Jagielka is as poor in the air as the rest of your fldefenders and he got turned by Tommy Smith at the weekend. You sir are not knowledgeable enough to talk about football.

If he's as over-rated as you Gooners suggest, then why do you want him?

Booger off and come back with a proper offer, there's a good chap...

And bear in mind that we got £4m for our 2nd choice 'keeper.

he can sign a contract for free in january so why bother with 6m offer.

I would offer squillaci

No he wouldn't it would be may, you cannot sign a new contract within 6 months of the last anymore it's just 1.

Sagna by Jauary you will be out of the Champions League and mid table in the Prem and more than likely out of both cups so stop being a prat and admit if you got Cahill for 10m you would be over the moon and so glad to have an experienced ENGLISH PREMIERSHIP defender instead of another french softy

If you truly believe that we will be mid table then its time we started questioning your knowledge about football

You could not score against Newcastle you got turned over with ease by Liverpool, How many goals you scored this season?

You need to look at this simply now i know your only 15 wilshire so pay attention
You keep offering figures like you have for Cahill you will not sign any new players. You don't add some much needed players to the ones you actually have left you will continue to struggle.
Hence no new arrivals you will continue to be beaten with ease by teams just like last season and will not get beyond the group stage in Europe and struggle for a decent league position. It aint rocket science it is simple observations that show Arsenal are a spent force the players you have a re not good enough and you need new additions to boost your thread bare squad.

I don't see why bolton are making such a fuss it was an OPENING offer, what kind of moron opens with a huge bid this is how negotiation works, barca opened with an offer of 23 million for fabregas which we rejected we didn't then have a mass media assault on barca about how their offer is insulting

posted on 26/8/11

I'm pretty sure you did, I'm sure I've seen fabregas to barca and all the trimmings since May?

most of which was coming from barcelona not arsenal... Barca had a new player every day talking about cesc's "Barca DNA" and how they were going to sign him and were willing to wait till transfer deadline day, all we did was reject low offers of 24 million pund etc and came out against the way in which barca lead a media circus to unsettle the player we never complained about low offers.

Arsenal have said nothing about the deal with cahill we made an offer which was a starting offer it got rejected and obviously was too low but there's no rule against testing the waters with a low offer, he has 1 year left on his contract unless city or chelsea are in for him you won't get offered the 17 million you want. I suspect around 10-12 million is what wenger wants to pay which in my opinion seems a fair estimation for a good centre back that is not an established first choice international with one year left on his contract. Gartsides behaviour was very unprofessional bringing private negotiations into the public eye, whatever he thinks of the bid there are no rules against an offer, from my understanding it was an unofficial offer over the phone anyway so I truely don't understand all the fuss

Actually, the mirror brought it to the public eye, we just confirmed it...

Overmars we are trying to up the price from either you or another club thats all it's football politics these days we want the best deal for us not you and if we have to use you to get 12m from someone else we will

posted on 26/8/11

Arsenal should be desperate to sign him. If they wait until he is out of contract next season, he will join a bigger and better club than Arsenal.

bwfc forever, 10-12 million is what I'd expect wenger wants to pay but calling the offer insulting etc isn't really needed when it's clearly a starting offer

posted on 26/8/11

When the buy out clause is 17m regardless of the contract situation and someone offers 6m it is insulting to the player, the club and the fans of Bolton and Arsenal.

If City had said to Wenger Nasri has 1 year left so tell you what 5m when you rated him at 25m you would have spit 100 dummies out of your pram.
We might be little old Bolton but still we deserve to be treated with some respect.

Cahill was a nobody a reserve when we paid 5m for him and turned him into one of the best English centre backs in the league and got him into the England set up, we deserve more than 6m for that it is after all 1m more than we bought him for and look what we have done for him.

posted on 26/8/11

We offered more than 6m.
