You do realise that everyone who is a top athlete is using PED's right? It is wide spread in every sport.
Look at football for instance; you can flush PED's out of your system in every 24 hours just by drinking enough water.
99% of ufc fighters are using and it's only the unlucky ones who get caught

The testing is not stringent at all.
You do realise that the testers are paid by the ufc and they get a share of the ppv money so it is in their interests to let the fight go ahead.
Not to mention the fact that all you have to do is look at in cycling, do you honestly believe that it is the only sport? FIFA only started testing at world cups last year and even then it was urine testing not blood testing which I have already said is a lot easier to cheat then a blood or hair sample
At the minute, he is the G.O.A.T in my opinion. The fact he tested positive this once has put a blemish on the legacy, but not enough (in my opinion) for us to totally disregard his accomplishments from the rest of his career.
If 99% of the UFC roster is on some sort of PED's (which I doubt) then that also means he should still be regarded as the GOAT...as he is doing nothing different to anyone else.
Guv, totally agree that within the next 12 months Jon Jones will become the greatest of all time as long as he beats Rumble Johnson, Gus again (if he gets in to that position) plus any rising star from the LHW division.
Add to that, the fact he should be moving to HW after that...a couple of solid wins up there & I think there should be no doubt.
Wins in fights at HW against any 2 or 3 of: Bigfoot, Browne, Overeem, Dos Santos & Velasquez....after 2 or 3 maybe 4 more dominant wins at LHW and I cannot see a single argument for anyone other than Jon Jones as the best ever.
Silva is of course still the best ever, half the guys he fought to get his legacy were on steroids anyway.
If you want to follow a 'clean' sport dont go near MMA, its dirty as fack.
90% of fighters are on it, they just know when to cycle it and when to stop....they only get caught the majority of the time due to surprise tests
After Jon Jones recent test results it's hard to give him the GOAT title either on that basis.... And I don't mean the coke, he might not have been officially been caught on PEDS but it'll clear he was using by his blood test results.
Fedor or GSP would be the other guys but honestly it's hard to 100% trust that anyone has been clean their whole career anymore.
Oh and even though I'm not a fan, Jon Jones already has the best resume in MMA.
If you compare the fighters that Jones and Silva have fought it's not even that close, add to that, that Anderson has 6 losses on his record and i'm not really sure why Anderson is so universally regarded as the best.
Most exciting maybe(pettis?) but not the best

I understand why many think he's the best but I value the quality of a fighters win streak in terms of the opponent over the amount, I also think that middle weight is one of the weaker weight classes, Jones is also unbeaten apart from a very dodgy disqualification.
I don't like Jones, fedor is without a doubt my favourite of the candidates for GOAT but I think the facts support Jones's case.
In terms of the most exciting I find Pettis to be more entertaining personally but there ain't much in it.
Fedor was an absolute beast.
Fedora greatest...no chance imo he had 2great fights... Nogueira and cro cop. All the others were UFC has been and underskilled Asian fighters.
Fedora vs Randy
Fedor vs Chuck
Fedor vs Silva( axe murderer)
Fedor was a beast, but no different to calzaghe in that he didn't face all the elite in his weight class. He also wasn't all that speciality watch. Silva took elite fighters and embarrassed them. Ppl forget that Rich Franklin was a world class fighter when Silva destroyed him TWICE!! Griffin was bigger and a known warrior yet Silva made a clown of him. Silva imo greatest fighter of all time.
UFC is such a young sport that I don't think that the term "greatest of all time" should be used.
If we're talking MMA in general then the likes of Bruce Lee and many others would surely be in contention even if there was no UFC or anything even similar to it in previous eras.
I heard Rousey describe herself today as the greatest of all time and it made me feel uneasy.
Greatest of what time ? The relatively short amount of time that the UFC has been in existence ?
Nothing against Rousey or Anderson Silva as they are both without doubt great fighters.

MMA has been around for centuries.
----------------------------
That's very debatable.
Fighting in the octagon with current MMA rules certainly hasn't been around for centuries.
In it's current format only a couple of decades as far as I know.
The drug he got caught for is interesting because its not something that a good coach would allow their athelete to get caught using. Its more likely that someone fecked up than the testing was good enough (either Silva messed up his timing, which is unliekly, or someone gave him a drug that wasnt what he was told he was using). No testing is good enough to stop atheletes cheating if they want to and have the resources. The best testing in sport is the Olympic programme and even that is routinely dodged (they tested a load of frozen samples from 2012 for instance recently with new techniques and found a sh't ton of samples tested postive for anabolics)
