Kane must start the second leg.

Still all to play for. We will score over there
Very poor result for me considering we should of been 4-0 up at half time. As always we shoot ourselves in the foot. No chance we are going through now.
Apparently they tend to be better away from home which is a little encouraging I guess
As are we so that's even more encouraging
Looks like we ran out of energy , we should have won this game in the 1st half. Didnt take our chances and we paid for that. Fiorentina created almost nothing. One lucky set piece goal . We in for a tough game at their place thou.
If we score in the away leg we are in control
The problem is its 3 days prior to our final, Poch has got a big dilemma about what team to take to Italy.
Chelsea have a full week before hand.
another poor game from eriksen, and i think lamela has had his chances now ,I have been supportive of him in the past but I really dont think he can make it in the premier

I didn't see the game but Lamela only got the last fifteen mins. This is his first full season considering injuries, I still think/hope he will come good for us.
poor team selection, why did poch do this I cant imagine , should have been 3 or 4 up but took pedal of gas, poor substitutions , game was crying out for pace left side second half needed Rose on got Lamela, Pauline waste of space

I`m with you Don, as soon as I saw the team, I knew Spurs were not going to win. Whenever Poch changes the team and puts in half a dozen squad players, the result is always the same, very rarely do Spurs win. Poch should have gone absolutely full strength tonight. WTF was Poch thinking about leaving some of his best players not playing in a very important game. Fecking ridiculous.
The thing is he had to bring on three of them second half, but the energy levels had gone by then. Can never understand managers playing weakened teams in important matches.

in that 15 minutes his first pass was way off and put straight out and then continued to give the ball away for the rest of the time, sorry to say I dont think he will make it
The thing is after the Chelsea games and next week against Fiorentina that will be the end of Spurs cup games for the season, and Poch can then go full strength in the prem until the end of the season. No feckking about with rotation.
There didn't appear anything wrong with the starting line up given the way we played in that first half, the chances we created, and the fact that the player playing in Kane's place got the goal (and a quality one at that). You can't really blame Poch for the usually reliable Chadli missing 2 sitters.
What you can criticise Poch for is the substitutions. He should have kept Townsend on and possibly brought Kane and Mason earlier. Or even brought Dembele on.

The sort of side Poch put out tonight always starts off OK, they did the same against Leicester, then they just stop running about after about half an hour. It is so predictable. Happened far too many times in the past. Full team would have in all probability seem a couple of goal lead.
Sandy
In all probability we would have still conceded a goal with our full team, given our record for conceding them.
I mean this is a very busy period for us now. Can we afford to play our full team through each one of these games up to the League Cup final?
Poch was let down by the finishing early on, and then he kind of let himself down in the second half with either his changes or failure to make them.
Imo poch facked this one up, in Kane mason and even rose to an extent he left out the guys that push us and give us that urgency that the team tonight could only manage for 30/35 minutes
Not the result we all wanted but to say we have no chance of progressing to the next round is a bit over the top. It will be tough but not impossible. Lets stay positive.

Nearly all our last four managers have fecked up cup competitions by playing weakened teams. Admittedly Spurs have got to Wembley in the League Cup, but as soon as Spurs come up against any half decent side in cup competitions, our managers think it is OK to start putting out weakened sides, and Spurs never progress. It is so fecking predictable.
I mean is there any point in Spurs trying to get into the top four and qualify for the CL, when our managers think rotation is the order of the day.

Spurs have no chance, because we know Poch is not going to play anywhere near full strength in Italy. Would not be surprised to see Kaboul taking to the field. 2 or 3-0 nil defeat in all probability.
We had the team to beat that crowd and we didn't use it. Now we either go over there with a full team and reduce our chance of winning the cup final, or we write it off and go all out for the final.
Either option isn't ideal. We had to go for it tonight but for whatever reason poch gambled and it didn't pay off.
Sandy I'm not usually one for rotation but sometimes I can understand it. Tonight tho no way they've just had a break ffs
Poch did exactly the right thing with team selection.
Sunday's match v West Ham is massive.. Not just who we are playing, but 3 points needed for champions league qualification.
Though I would have started Stambouli ahead of the awful Paulinho.
Chadli is miles better than Lamela,so I would have rested Chadli.
Let's face it..we are never going to win the Europa league, carling cup & get 4th.No way!
